    • I loved Kennedy calling out the fans on the postgame show. “If you weren’t here tonight and you call yourself Shocker Nation, you need to get here. This team is good and fun to watch.” Loved it!!!!

Imploring, begging maybe. "Calling out"? I don't think that's the best approach. Shocker fans have been through the mill (pardon the pun).

Athletic department has to understand the economy and the art of supply and demand or WSU is gonna have to make people believe they’re a serious threat for postseason play. Otherwise, get used to the empties.

If MK is willing to shell out $200 for my family to come out watch some ball and perhaps grab a snack, then I’m all for it. Otherwise the “calling out” needs to be reinserted back into his mouth.

Speaking of this, Saal needs to get his head out of his ass regarding parking. Tonight the BG lot along Hillside (furthest from the arena), had five or six cars in it at 5:40. The next closer lot was MAYBE 40% full, but probably more like a third. You know how many permits there are for every single SASO lot. Stop acting like 4000 people are suddenly going to buy season tickets and right-size those reserved lots. It's ridiculous.

              • They have absolutely out priced themselves. Went to my first game this year, and at age 60 felt young compared to those in my area. No young families, they can't afford to bring the family. Get some family packs at $10 each, get people in the door, let them spend on concessions. Then maybe they think about season tickets in the future.

That's part of it, but the students can go on the cheap and that section is pitiful.

                  • They need to take the falcons (atl) approach and drop the prices of concession back to the 90s.

Watch this sequence. I said this when it happened live .. THIS is shocker basketball. Hill closes out and blocks a 3. Corey Washington saves it diving out of bounce. Hill looks up the floor to Cortes, who hits Ballard who is out running ETSU to the other end for a fast break slam.

That was basically a 100% effort created play

My daughter, Pyper, has been invited to join our Cheer Team at the game Saturday night. She's 8 years old and have been cheering for the Haysville Jr Colts football for the past 2 years. She loves it. Anywho, the cheerleaders have set her up with a uniform and pom poms, and have layed out the red carpet. She will be with the cheer squad on the floor for the whole game and gets to take part in the pyramids during time outs. She even has to be at Koch 2 hours before the game to get ready and warm up, just like the "big girls"! SHE'S SO EXCITED!!

So, if your at the game and see a little one hanging with the team, please be sure to say hi.

I am so grateful for the leaders of the squad to make this happen. So proud of the folks that represent our university!!

                        GO SHOCKS!
She was so energized to be out there it was contagious as the crowd was so in sync with her. Loved the way she was to top of the pyramid. She and the teddy bear toss warmed my heart last night Go Shocks.

                          • Agreed. We had a great time at the roundhouse last night. Super fun. Would have been even better with a few more thousand of my best friends. Oh well. I'll dial back the negativity in my own world and just try to enjoy the good things that are happening. It's Christmas time after all.

None of this, all of this, and parts of this, have no bearing on my willingness to attend a ballgame. It's simple economics. It's flat out not worth 100.00 a ticket or so, to attend a WSU/KSU basketball game. That's me personally. Throw in a couple of drinks, popcorn or hot dog and there are more important uses of my money. Those two tickets are a hell of a lot more than my grocery bill for the week. Grocery and gas, actually.

It's one thing for Mike Kennedy to call out fans post game for attendance woes. He won't be paying 100.00 a ticket to get in. He may even get paid to be there.

We supported WSU for many years. I warned users on SN years ago about this possibility of apathy because of ticket costs and nil, and was criticized for not taking my meds. I was told even during the Cohen years fans attended games. And we were there during those years also. This roller coaster ride would never stop, fans said.

Wish I had a better argument. We support the Shockers, and if economics forces me to support them only in spirit, well, i can't be faulted for that.

Good game Shocks! We will continue to root for you!

                              • I agree with what others have said...is MK going to pay for the tickets? It's going to take more than a win against a bad team (who hasn't beat anyone). It's going to take more than getting blown out in an ugly fashion against Florida to get fans back (that was only 3 games ago). The K-State game isn't even much of a game this year with K-State not at their best...I do fear the arena being more purple than gold. I am a former season ticket holder...the team (and the university) has got to earn back my loyalty. The past few years have been horrible on both fronts. And, if I want to pay money to watch professional basketball, I can just buzz down to OKC.
