  • Rumors of our demise may have been greatly exaggerated...

Still processing what I witnessed Friday night. Having only watched a handful of games since the GOAT was retired, my mind isn't polluted with all the mediocrity since. I actually thought I had travelled back in time for a moment. We have some pieces. And if those pieces continue to play with the aggression they showed in the 2nd; I can't believe I'm saying this but... good times are about to return. And when I say good times, I don't mean Jimmy Walker good times; I mean hope, pride, and a guaranteed ass-stomping to those who visit the Chuck, good times.

Keep it up coach and you're gonna wake a sleeping giant. LFG!

We have some good players, but we have 9 seniors and very few others that get minutes. Next year will be a major test for Mill’s ability to recruit and coach.

To be fair so was this year. This is the era of the transfer portal. Everyone dealing with 1 and dones now.

Maybe not. But we are included with "everyone else". We may as well get used to it if we want to try and stay competitive. Or just get really shitty players no one else will want lol. I don't see very many other options unfortunately.

The fact that not everybody is going to get used to it, is a big prob

Although we returned a lot of players that are now seniors. We need everything next year with only Washington being a proven returner.

It'll be tough to replace QB. Even with the NIL portal it's incredibly difficult to find dominate forces in the paint. Sure there's a footer out there to be had but most likely you're getting early QB production that we witnessed when he first put in a Shocker jersey.

Just enjoy what could be a very nice season that just commenced.

It’s like when Doc used to tell us to “enjoy the ride.” I’ll worry about next year next year.

CW is a player and Pipkin is going to be. Isn't there a possibility MB gets another year? Mayes looks promising. Holes to fill but dancing this year will help in tapping the portal. I'm already excited.

Didn’t you start a thread retiring from Shockernet?

                      ... No really, deuces.

I don't disagree. I hate what this has become. But it's not gonna change. And I won't let it affect me trying to enjoy this season to the fullest while knowing we can no longer plan for the future. It is what it is.

But that's part of what surprised me against STL. We looked REALLY good and REALLY hard w/ a coach that's only been here since March of 2023. Maybe it was a flash in the pan. But if it wasn't, that's a REALLY good turnaround with short-term players. If he can get kids to stay two years, then maybe he has a good year every other year. That's not horrible I suppose.

Still disgusted with the ransom payments, but if they play like the college players of old... slightly less disgusted. What I saw the other night was reminiscent of something beautiful that I thought may have been gone forever.

#6 is the one that gave me the most hope. He has a motor like Tekele and he uses it just like the young warriors of old.

*DISCLAIMER* I've only watched one game in like.. forever. But I saw what I saw. I'll be watching the next one.

Yeah. It was a NIL-related decision. But after accidentally turning a game on, I witnessed something that piqued my interest and gave me a little hope. I'm doing my best not to leave you 'Fever!
