Gotta keep it real. No way can I pick the Shocks in this one. Injury bug. Performance bugs. Free throw bugs. Outside shooting bugs. Maybe the Coaching staff has a bug right now. The scout on WSU is easy. I had to pick Loooooiey by 5+.

Got a fairly large group headed up for the game. So hopefully its more WKU game and less Monmouth game.

If we have DeGray, and I have a feeling we won't see him on the court again until conference play, I would pick Shocks in a squeaker.

        No DeGray, lose by 5+.

hmmmmm, if RD is out for several games might we see MB at PF some when QB returns? Thoughts on that?

Only if both can stay out of foul trouble.

Man it’s crazy that the 5 spot is so short on depth after everything. I think we could still win without DeGray, especially as Washington’s on a heater. I could expect that to continue. Long as we have QB, we’ll be competitive.

St Louis is not that great and is likely playing without their best player. This is a winnable game if there’s a game plan worth a **** that’s executed.

Anything resembling last night and it’s a double digit L that likely sends the season into a tailspin, a la last year.

I am basing my prediction on Avila playing Friday. From what I've seen online, if he practices Wednesday he'll play. If not, he's out.

If he plays, I fear QB and MB will struggle with foul trouble, as Avila forces you to defend him all over the court. Having DeGray available would help our ability to double and force Avila to give up the ball and commit a couple of extra turnovers. He is usually good for two a game, and committed four in his only game this year.

Man this thread is dark.....which is fair. We sucked last night.

Shox by 8, with QB leading the way on the boards and Justin Hill burying three pointers.

Q: Good afternoon WuOracle. It's me the WuShock Reaper.
A: The WuShock Reaper returns! What mischief are you up to now?

Q: Haha, you know me too well! I have been brewing up some creative chaos. But I want to know why you think the Wichita State basketball fans on Shockernet.net are so ticked off about the win against Monmouth?
A: It seems like Wichita State basketball fans on Shockernet.net are frustrated because the game against Monmouth was much closer than expected. Despite being heavily favored, the Shockers needed a late 3-pointer from Corey Washington to secure a 70-66 win. Monmouth, ranked much lower, managed to keep the game tight, which disappointed fans who expected a more dominant performance.

Q: They can be such an unpleasant crew, even with a win.
A: It sounds like the fans can be pretty tough, even when the team pulls off a win. Passionate fans often have high expectations, which can sometimes lead to frustration when things don’t go as smoothly as they’d like. Hopefully, the team can use this as motivation to improve and give the fans something to cheer about in the next game!

Q: What do you think the score will be against Saint Louis on Friday?
A: Wichita State is slightly favored to win, with a predicted score around 74-71.

Q: What happens if Robbie Avila does not play for Saint Louis?
A: Without him, Saint Louis might struggle more, potentially giving Wichita State an edge. In that case, the score might lean more in favor of Wichita State, perhaps around 74-68.

Q: What happens if Quincy Ballard does not play?
A: If Quincy Ballard does not play for Wichita State, it could make the game more challenging for the Shockers. His absence would likely affect their scoring and rebounding capabilities. Without him, the game might be closer, with a predicted score around 72-70 in favor of Wichita State

Q: What happens if Robbie Avila plays in the game, but Quincy Ballard and Ronnie DeGray III does not play?
A: In this scenario, the predicted score might be around 70-68 in favor of Saint Louis

Q: Lastly WuOracle, what can Coaching Staff do better for the next game?
A: For the next game, the Wichita State coaching staff should focus on a few key areas to improve their performance:

Defensive Adjustments: Tightening up the defense, especially in the paint, to compensate for any potential absences. This could involve more aggressive perimeter defense and better help-side rotations.

Rebounding: Emphasizing the importance of boxing out and securing rebounds, particularly if key players like Quincy Ballard and Ronnie DeGray III are unavailable. This will help limit second-chance points for the opposition.

Offensive Efficiency: Working on shot selection and ball movement to create high-percentage scoring opportunities. Ensuring that the team capitalizes on open looks and minimizes turnovers will be crucial.

Player Development: Giving bench players more minutes to build their confidence and experience. This can help in maintaining a high level of play even when starters are out.

Game Plan Execution: Ensuring that the team sticks to the game plan and makes necessary in-game adjustments based on the flow of the match. Clear communication and quick decision-making from the coaching staff can make a big difference.
By focusing on these areas, the coaching staff can help the team perform better and increase their chances of winning against Saint Louis

Q: Great I will let him know.
A: Sounds like a plan! I’m sure the coaching staff will appreciate the insights. If you need any more information or have any other questions, feel free to ask. Enjoy the game on Friday!

Soon, the Shocks easy shots we have missed for 2 games, will count. Not knowing the Shocks injury status, we win by 3.

BC and AJM need to shoot better. BC also needs to improve his assist to turnover ratio. MB needs to be more aggressive on offense. Team rebounding needs improvement so they all need to do better there. Need a healthy QB for sure. I expect a close game. Play hard all the time and they win 79-74.

Am I the only one who cringes when BC touches the ball? I'm probably in the minority but I feel like his minutes are just a waste, he can't shoot, and turns it over WAY too much
