  • We were supposed to defeat S. Florida at our barn by 7 or 8.
However, their firepower all over the court overwhelmed the Shocks from the opening tip onward. We resembled our performance last Season rather than early projections of this Season.

Our Non-Con schedule didn't seem to prepare us for our early Conference games, even with our winning record through it. Our 3 point % shooting so far is not competitive.
Hopefully, our injured players can return soon when they get healthy. Will we be able to go 9-9 or even 10-8 now? Stay tuned.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

      • Defense.

        Pure and simple.

13 seasons with 3G. I realize 4 were with elite talent. Somewhere around 450 games. How many 90 burger do you think he gave up?

Clearly the correct answer is "That's a stupid ****ing question".

But you might be surprised to know the answer is 5. Most of those 5 crazy shooting games (3OT Drake, @CU on Gibbs 9th Senior night they shot 72% FG, OSU at Intrust Pokes go 14-28 from 3, OU at Intrust Trae Young went nuts in the first half & Bama in Charleston 51% 47% 94%). But there were very few 80s too. By my count, only an additional 9 through 2017 (and at least 3 of those 14 went to at least 1 OT). To be fair, 18-19-20 were not strong years and it showed, defensively. 2 of the previously mentioned 90 games and 17 more 80s games....but about half were wins. And also against MUCH better competition than we're seeing now.

The last season and a half, 10 games in the 80s, 4 MORE in the 90s and 1 more in the 110s.

If you aren't going to coach and play D you aren't going to win, period. The Art of War. What we're watching (and paying a **** ton more for) is the Art of Juice Boxes.

              • Five or six weeks ago, we were projected to go 23-7 (Friends game not included).

Now, we are looking at 14-16.

                Sweet Jesus, good Lord!

3 more projected wins all year.... one of those is a team that already beat us by double digits

Sounds like the projection model is unreliable. Perhaps we'll prove just how unreliable it is against Memphis...

                      I'll be watching!

                      Time to Evansville somebody!!!!!

                        • The reality is that Mills was a bad hire and we’re not doing any postseason as long as he’s here. Best to just go 14-16 the next couple years and leave no doubt as to his future.

Yep - honestly I’d rather lose out. Would bring whatever the fate is a whole lot faster. Mills has shown enough for me to know he’s not it.
