Looks like DeGray is our backup center this year. Yikes.

I did observe a practice this week and I overheard Meeks say he would be out about 7 more weeks.

Seven weeks would be the first week of December. Now, is seven weeks when he would be ready to step into a game or when he would be able to start preparing to step into a game?

I bet he can, or at least close to it. But what about the other 10 to 15 minutes?

                      Yikes.

If I am an opposing coach, I don't bother starting my starting center. I start whoever can DRAW FOULS the best at the 5. Get Ballard in foul trouble early and you can stick a fork in us. Ballard didn't have a foul problem last year, so that might not be as easy as it sounds, but when you check in with the assignment of drawing fouls it's a lot easier to game the refs.

If Matej and Meeks are out, we are Crocodile Dundee I'm afraid.

The guys were gathering this afternoon during the volleyball match to get on the plane to Kentucky. Zane was in workout clothes but also a brace similar to football interior lineman. He also was sporting a very pronounced limp. You could tell it hurt. Take it for what it’s worth.

Hard to see him playing before mid January, for me at least. Got to get healthy, THEN has to get in shape, THEN has to get up to speed. A lot to ask.

Meeks is just about a wasted scholarship. By the tiume he heals up and actually gets on a court to start running the offense and defense the season will be half over. Everybody is a little raw at the start of the season, but they've made a lot of progress by the start of conference play. Meeks will be "start of the season" raw at the start of conference play - or maybe even later.

He'll be able to eat some minutes, but expecting any significant production seems foolish. With a one-year guy, injuries are a big factor.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.
