FVV loses cool with a pushoff. WCU ball. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Carl continues to play solid. Gotta quit missing those bunnies though, killin me.
Cleanthony getting more and more comfortable. Wonder what he'll be like after a year with Kerry.
Ron looks like he's starting to hesitate a little on his shots. Would like to see some pull up from 8-10 feet. Made some really good passes though.
Chadrack is one big dude. Pretty quick for a big guy though.
Glad Malcolm is here. Solid, solid play.
Fred keeps getting better. Malcolm gives him time to learn. That's all good.
Evan getting on the floor, scrapping for rebonds, and 11 points to boot. +++
EO, just keep doing what you're doing.Where oh where is our T. Boone Pickens.

I see this happening some more as we continue to get better. Constantly developing 12 players who can all ball will lead to less than impressive final scores when all is said and done, even though games are never in doubt.
What we'll need to do is really drop the hammer on someone to remind everyone we're for real, something which is rapidly becoming apparent to many.

FVV was Maverick from Top Gun right before the end of the first half when he drove to penetrate, knew they defender was chasing him hard, hit the brakes and they guy blasted him for a foul -
just like this from the movie -
If you take the high road, you won't find much traffic there . . .

Overall a good win. First half obviously > second half. We worked the offense great at times. Others, we settled for too much perimeter junk. That needs to be handled better. Early is going to really ruin a lot of Valley fans' nights. Hall was strong, but like wusplash said, he needs to hit his bunnies. A couple of them should have just been dunks by him and then there's no missing. Defense was very good at times. WCU was throwing in a lot of junk. Their one white guard was shooting the rock. They definitely liked the perimeter. Their big boy also showed some skills and was pretty athletic. They definitely should be a player in the So Con.
Marshall said he was more concerned with building depth than 30 point victories. We built it up again in the second half. Solid win.Deuces Valley.
... No really, deuces.

10 letters for Early
S-T-U-D
N-B-A
P-O-W (Player of the Week)
He could have had 30 tonight. The Valley hasn't seen a player like Early in a very long time. I've got to go back to Perez or maybe McDaniel to find a better player in a Shocker uni.
Hall is still missing some bunnies, but he's deadly from 15'.
Orukpe absolutely shut down WCU's post (King), who was a 6'8", 240 lb. guy who played pretty solid. King was scoring over Hall, but had virtually nothing aginst Orukpe. For those who just read stats to form opinions of players, Orukpe had an awful game. Orukpe probably prevented 10 points down low that WCU porbably would have scored against Hall or Early. That's not a dis on Hall or Early, it's just something Orukpe can do that those guys can't do.
Baker's shot was off tonight, but DWIll has got his work cut out for him if he wants his starting spot back. DWill will get the ending minutes.
White and Cotton are struggling to find minutes. Cotton did some things that will get him some minutes. White - not so much.
Wiggins appeared to be playing within the system and was playing some decent D in his minutes. That resulted in his pretty much doing nothing notable, but I think he's got to show that he can do that before Marshall is going to let him show what he can really do.
Armstead, Early, and Hall can carry this team a long ways. Baker and Wessel are more than adequate in their roles. Orukpe doesn't score much, but he really shuts down the paint and he's starting to get a feel for steals on pases into the interior. Dub-V looks solid - he's not at Armstead's level, but he looks good for a Fr - VERY good for a Fr. DWill may be on the "depth" unit. That's quality depth and Marshall is using the cupcakes to develop depth.
If there are 3 teams better than WSU in the Valley, then the Valley is going to be REALLY good this year.
Armstead is VERY good with the shot clock running down. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Baker needed to drive his man. He could've done it all night but didn't. The key to the game was that we could beat any of those guys off the dribble because they were playing us so tight. I hope HCGM points that out to him. He is so much more than a one dimensional player.
