They're ok but they're still a SoCon team. I actually think we could've played better on Tuesday and because of the intense defense in that game, I think this one comes a bit easier and were gonna look to push the offense.

Assuming there's no crazy lineups, I think we win by around 20ish, say 76-55

    ... No really, deuces.

That would be cool. Would also like to see Wiggins get some quality PT.

Can't argue with Cancun. I was lucky enough to get a text last night from someone with an extra ticket tonight. It may be against a crap team, but at least I finally get to see them up close. I'd sacrifice all of that to see them in Cancun though.

                          Here is the Catamounts roster:

Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

No seniors on the roster but the do have 3 RS juniors.

The lost to UNC - Asheville 61-71 and defeated D-II Mars Hill College 95-68.

Picked to finish 3rd in the SoCon by the Coaches and 2nd by the media North Division behind UNC-Greensboro and Elon (Coaches). Davidson is the heavy favorite to win the South Division.

6-2 RS Jr Trey Sumler is a preseason All-SoCon pick.

They have 4 starters averaging double figures after 2 games:

6-2 RS Jr Trey Sumler 16.0 PPG, 3.5 RPG
                          6-8, 245 Jr King Tawaski 13.5 PPG, 6.0 RPG
6-4, 180 RS Jr Tom Tankelewicz 13.0 PPG, 4.5 RPG
                          6-5, 190 Jr Brandon Boggs 11.0 PPG, 4.5 RPG

The 5th starter has been 6-4, 220 Jr who has contributed 5.0 PPG and 3.5 RPG

Looks like the go 9 deep with 6-3, 180 Jr James Sinclair, 6-3, 175 Fr Mike Brown, 6-8, 180 RS Jr Josh Mendenhall and 5-10, 170 Fr Rhett Harrelson getting double digit minutes in their 2 games and contributing a combined 14.5 PPG and 12.5 RBG

They have turned the ball over 39 times in two games and the Shocks should own the boards against this team.

Here are there stats for the 2 games: http://www.catamountsports.com/sport.../teamcume.html

A team that is perhaps comparable to UNCC maybe a little better. Should win by 12 to 20 depending on how many minutes 3G decides to dole out to CJ, Nick, Jake, FVV. Hopefully, the opportunity will be there for a good number of minutes for each of those guys.

Here is the "scout from www.goshockers.com

On WCU...Western Carolina closed out the 2011-12 season by winning seven-straight games - including its final four regular season games and three in the tournament, making a run at the SoCon Championship title before falling in a thrilling double-overtime game in a purple-clad U.S. Cellular Center in Asheville in early March... Hunter and the Catamounts return seven players from the 2011-12 squad including All-SoCon Tournament Team selections in guard redshirt junior Trey Sumler and junior post Tawaski King ... Void of a senior on the roster, the Catamounts boast six juniors, two sophomores and a group of five talented freshmen... Four of the top six leading scorers from a season ago are back led by Sumler who aver- aged 13.5 points per game to rank second on the squad in 2011-12 ... Junior Brandon Boggs also averaged double-digit scoring at 10.0 ppg, while King averaged 7.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest last season.

If this team can come out and demonstrate what we know what they are capable and not let down because of an emotional win two days ago, that will really send a message to us fans about the quality of this team. I would expect some sort of let down, but if they go on to dominate and win by 20 plus, then that will speak volumes.

Two hours before game time, and the Vegas Odds Makers have lowered the Shockers to 16 point favorites.
