At least losing by 30+ to Florida isn't brutality.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

What's worse - 5th worse loss ever to Florida or losing a close one to Alcorn?

Getting beat down by 30+ to the eventual National Champion is not okay but not the worst thing ever in a semi-rebuilding year. It's on par with losing your wallet and finding out the thief ran up $5k of credit card debt. You'll recover from it, it's embarrassing, it's gonna take work to dig out of the problem.

Losing to Alcorn State is NEVER okay, is the worse thing ever, should never happen, and is 100% your fault. Like getting your brand new Lexus stolen while warming it up and finding out you had a one day gap in insurance coverage after changing insurance companies and you accidentally told both companies the wrong days to start and stop coverage.

Semi-rebuilding year? I know I'm not up on the new verbiage of "class" identification yet.

We have the following that was listed at the beginning of the school year:

1 Grad Student who probably will be allowed to play next year due to injury, if he can physically and/or if he even wants to have another year.

2 "Fifth Year" as the class identifier.

                1 Redshirt Senior.

5 Seniors who may or may not be back.

And last, anyone or more who may transfer out for any reason.

"Re-building Year" may be most years now of days.

Yea, this isn't a rebuilding year .. this is a make or break year.

The way I see it, new coaches will still take 3 years initially, just like juco. First year is a super short recruiting cycle and a ton of last coach's players. Second year is a massive rebuild and still relying on last guy's recruits. Third year no excuses.

After that it's a two year cycle: one year rebuild, one year reload cycle. Unless you are a perennial top 25 team, then you just keep reloading.

Even if this year is a resounding success, the Shocks will be back to square 1 next year. The concept of building a program is no longer viable apparently. The game now is buying a program and not that many athletic departments can play that game and many, if not most of the perennial powers were already doing that in the shadows. Now it's out in the open for all to see.
