Sycamores Win! After playing a sub-par game, Jake Odum takes charge and scores the winning basket with .8 seconds left in OT.

Wow. The win over Miami has improved the Indy State rpi to 50. It won't stay there, but it is nice seeing a FOURTH Valley team in the top 50 right now (WSU-14, Cu-16, Ill St-40, Indy St- 50).

Miami's rpi is 19. So this win is very nice for Indy St and the Valley. The Valley has gone 5-13 against teams in the rpi top 50 this year. Not great, but not terrible.

Trees come back to tie in regulation and Odum hit a shot with .8 left in OT. Sycs take Miami down.

They had a good trip to Hawaii, taking 2 from BCS schools.

Just for comparison sakes I checked the records of the top non-BCS conferences against the rpi top 50: Valley 5-13, C-USA 0-19, WCC 2-12, A10 5-24, MWC 14-7, Horizon 1-8, CAA 1-15, MAC 1-20, WAC 0-15.

So the only non-power BCS conference with a better record against the rpi top 50 is the Mountain West. Just for grins, I checked out the Big 12 and they are only a little better than the Valley at 7-14.

I guess I should have kept on checking, the over-hyped Big East has a WORSE record against the rpi top 50 than the Valley. The BIG LEAST is 5-15. Wow I didn't expect that one.

Good present for the Valley. I thought Odum can really be out of control at times, which will help us in our games. Sometimes I think he wants to try to be hero too much. It paid off here though.
