Not sure all coaches would agree.

This year, we have an entirely different dynamic to learn, and we lack the advantage last year had in that a lot of them had a year's experience with each other.

For instance, remember the play in the Pitt State game where Wiggins was going to the basket after a steal and Early had the clear chance for an easy bucket after his man went to help. Wiggins decides to go against both men and shoots instead of passing to Early for the easy basket. He makes it, but the play showed a lack of chemistry. Also, watch the interplay between our guards and Orukpe, White, and perhaps Lufile (when he comes back). Last season, the post feeds came often and easily, while this year the guards seemed to have a great reluctance to pass the ball inside to anyone not named Hall.

The potential for chemistry is there (first play of the exhibition), but the execution is not yet. It is significantly better than I thought it would be at this point, but we have a long ways to go.
Too many times we've seen what anybody but Hall does inside the post with the ball. These other post players will have ample opportunities in these early "gimme" games to prove whether they can handle balls being passed down to them and whether they convert on those. If they don't pass the test against the likes of North Carolina Central, Howard, and Western Carolina, then I wouldn't be passing them the ball either.

EO shot fairly efficiently last year, and I'd expect to be getting at least looks in these early games. Same with Early or White down low. The fact that they aren't seeing those touches is on the guards right now, but it will be on the posts later in the season.

There is no doubt EO improved his FG% from his So-to-Jr year (42%/50%). For a player who shoots within 4-feet of the basket I would expect that to be considerably higher as a senior. I also would expect him to be more of a factor on the offensive glass. Only 13% of his rebounds were offensive last year. Our PG Joe Ragland had a 16% offensive rebounding rate. Stutz was 25%, while Hall was 43%. I believe this all goes back to BBIQ. He doesn't have the vast basketball experience to fall back on. With his athletic gifts you would hope he approaches 25-30% this year.

EO's points per 40 average decreased from 8 points per game to 6 points per game. He either wasn't getting the ball as much or he wasn't able to finish as often. On the other end of the court his blocks per 40 increased from 3 bpg to 5 bpg. So he can swat flies fo sho. But can he get those per 40 points per game up to something serviceable? That's the 138 page thread question.
