I'd say I've seen most starting centers in the top 12-15 conferences, and Stutz was the slowest. But I'm not just talking about running, but the total package. He wasn't a leaper, and his movements in the post were slow. I know you are just trying to defend him, but admit that he overcame a very large athletic shortcoming in order to become our leading scorer.

He could hit his free throws, but wore a pair of lead shorts to every game. He had white man's disease.

Thanks for stopping by, now scurry on back to your home board. How long have you been following VCU Goats basketball? I only ask this because almost every post you've made is laced with slightly defensive remarks. Any comment of ours that could even slightly imply that we have a chance against your team is met with more defense of yours. The point I'm trying to make is, act like you've been there before and stop selling us on how "good" your team is. You aren't here to find out about the game, you are here to try and build your confidence in yours.

Last year we lost by 3 points and this year we are bigger, faster, and more talented. Several of our players lack D1 experience, and several of our players have lots of D1 experience. Talent can make up for experience depending on the apportion of it. Marshall is one of the top coaches in the country and probably the hardest recruiter. He has turned down multiple jobs offerings in the neighborhood of $2M. HCGM is not an amateur, he will have his players ready for war.

Did you just read my last post? WSU is perfectly capable of winning this one. Otherwise, thanks for the thoughts and contributions to this thread.

Your last post only partially exonerates you. Also, you posted it while I was writing mine. Again, if you want to have non-heated discussion.. be a man, act like you've been there before, and stop telling us how and why you will beat us.

Also, do not use the mid-major term in reference to us (it's fine if you refer to your own school as mid-major). Do not reference BJ as Creighton, only BJ (as in the singular form of the act). And definitely don't EVER make comments like this again: "McDermott is a national superstar and Naismith candidate and we don't have anyone close to that good." I just about ***** lost my lunch on that one...

We've beaten much more experienced Shocker teams away from our home floor twice now in consecutive years in games we led for much of the game before Wichita State made late comebacks, and we are a different beast on our home floor which anyone who has had to play us there regularly will tell you. That doesn't mean a blow-out will occur, but much like you didn't expect our game last year to be close and were surprised, that kind of thing can and has definitely happened with better teams than the one Wichita State will be bringing into Richmond.

It's one thing to put out a platitude, it's quite another to show a trend over several games that shows a common tie to how we approached the second-halves of games late in the season. Playing like crap will lose us a lot of games regardless of who we play. The same will be true of Wichita State if you play that way. If you make mistakes, VCU will make you pay. We forced teams into mistakes better than any team in the country last year and return most of them back this year. We'll see how it goes.
OK. Well f*&k it. Let's do this then. Shaka- thinks he's entitled.. spoiled f*ckin brat. 'Can't wait for Nov 13th- wish it was tomorrow. The sooner to bend some rims, the better.. right there in VA... it's a comin' on 'ya. Fast break city..

              WuDrWu predicts a blowout loss.

For Wichita State, yes! Don't hate all of the sudden after we win there with good style- turnabout is fair play. Don't hate.. participate

If that happens, I'll be the first to say congrats and good luck! I'm confident that will be a great win for Wichita State in March just as I'm sure a win over WSU will be great for us in March if we prevail.

Oh, the Shockers will prevail in style. No doubt- the time has come. 'Can't predict a blowout, but... enough is enough.. you know what I'm sayin'?

The only thing that needs to be admitted is you said something epically stupid and got called out on it. Everyone on this board watched him school other bigs at many levels of the NCAA.

Epically stupid? He was a good center despite his athleticism. I said that from the beginning. But he was incredibly unathletic. Ignoring that is what is epically stupid.

                            Amen, CBB way overstated.

Yes. Here's the quote again with the irrelevant parts removed: "... Stutz ... was perhaps the least athletic player in the entire NCAA"

And do you have anything to say he wasn't? Or are you just so hurt by the fact that one of our players had faults that you can't admit it?
