I watched a re-run of the Davidson game last weekend. Joe was incredibly impressive and I hope Armstead can come close to replacing him.

Stutz will always be one of my favorite Shockers but he had a few holes in his game at times. He was sensational at other times. Garrett will be missed.

Neither will be easy to replace. A lot of guys are going to have to step up big time this season.

Rags, but only by a whisker. They were both key to our success. They were both 1st Team All Valley. As I look at most of our very biggest wins, Rags was the catalyst plenty of times. Too many times in Valley play, the whistle was GS biggest foe. Was it just because he was foul prone? Not always. In Valley play, it seemed that because he was 7' and such a solid player, he got some tough breaks with the whistle. Maybe it was just me and my rose colored glasses?

Rags was not your typical PG and Stutz was not your typical big. This year we will be more "typical" and we will see how it plays out.

Rags did have an edge on the crossover dribble versus Stutz which of course was invented by our own SN Icon, ==Shoelace!!!!!!!??? Yikes!!! Was that Shoelace that actually often called the Locker-Room show way back when with that high pitched voice asking "WHO'S BETTA?"

To answer the question, one must ask another: Who would have hurt the Shocks more with an early, season ending injury? I say Rags.

Wish we had a poll for this one. I loved Stutz's contributions and he made last year's team better for the most part when he was in there, but I also have to side with Rags. He was the little engine that could. He was way more multi-dimensional when in the game. He could score. He could assist. He could pop a 3. He could pop a runner in the lane. He could shoot free throws. He could motivate. He could LEAD.

50% 3pt shooting is impressive. Of course, it's a little easier to shoot 50% from 3 when 2-3 defenders have been instructed to remain within 3ft of your center.

Both will be missed. Neither will be replaced. This team will have to play differently.
