Hall will eat Simons alive. Simons is a good player but this pick was a mistake.

It probably did deserve it's own thread. It was 54 wins in 09-10 to 10-11. 56 wins for 10-11 to 11-12. 57 wins 11-12 to 12-13. Sixtyflippingfive 12-13 to 13-14. That's the 1st, 3rd and 4th most successful 2 year stints in the history of the Valley. Pretty special times....enjoy the ride.

I believe the 2nd most successful two year run was the two years Bradley went to the final four (1950) and the year then won the NCB...for 8 teams that were barred from the NCAA and NIT after the point shaving scandal. There were only 8 teams in the NCAA and NIT that year, so it was pretty prestigious.

11-12 and 12-13 should have 10 more overall wins.

Those 2-year stretches are pretty nice, but look at the last 4 years.
                      2010 - 2014: 121-24. 83.4%. That's averaging over 30 wins a year over a 4-year period.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

The Season we were picked 4th in the Valley but yet landed in the Final 4 was quasi-incredible. No other team that made the Dance that very year had near the injury issues all Season long that our beloved Shocks endured. Baker finally returned at the Valley Tourney after missing oodles of games. Every team we defeated at the Dance did not know what hit them and felt they just had an off night. On the other hand, our stingy defense had much to do with their woes. We played together and peaked at the right time.

Remember Cotton's parsimonious defense versus Pitt? How about FVV's fresh 25' 'shot-clock-buster-shot-make' versus the Zags that was heard around the world? Ice water in the Freshman's veins maybe? Then there was The La-Salle team that after defeating K-State seemed to not know much about us until after the tip-off and Carl Hall tore their defense up inside all night long. Of course we also remember the Buckeyes led by their 'media darling' Aaron Craft. Who was betta in that game? Craft or Armstud and FVV? Hmmmm!!! During that Dance when the lights were gleaming, Baker and Cle were making big shots as usual and Cotton found his touch at some key moments. Baker gets on National TV and tells the world about the 2 traffic lights back home and now last Season he was referred to as a 'very bad bad boy' on the court by Mr. Harrison.. I could go on all day but I am a man of few words? tsk, tsk, tsk.

We followed that Final 4 Season up in great fashion last Season, only losing 1 solitary game and are excited as we are just a hop-skip- and a jump away from a fresh new Season knocking at our door, knowing our beloved Shocks are not satisfied and thus will play angry and come out swinging. We have lots of new players to blend in, especially at the 4 and 5 slots. That task is something 3G is 'high above the curve' at doing. This is what encouages me most about this squad. We hear stories of how hard our players work to improve their game when few are watching knowing this will result in wins when the lights illuminate the hardwood. Next, our new players as a group really will give us many options at all 5 slots. This could prove to be a committe of new players and redshirts that are very special. Shockers, start your angry revved up engines as we seek to ride to the basketball promised land.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Does HC3G make it to 400 wins this season? If so, that gets him real close to making the NCAA fastest to 400 wins list. At his current pace, even if he doesn't make the 400 list this season, he'll definitely make the fastest to 500, 600, 700, 800 and 900 wins lists in future seasons. Then Gregg Marshall and Mike Krzyzewski will be the only coaches on the fastest to 1000 wins list.
