On another note, I started a thread on MVCFANS and guess who showed up? That ambulance chaser LJay.

It's amazing how many opposing fans admit to reading this site. They ***** and moan about what is being posted on this fan site, but they can't seem to get enough of this place and keep coming back.
I think that says a lot...
Deuces Valley.

We aren't going to be as good as last year. No Joe Ragland.
Not sure your 400th career post is a shinning moment for you. J-Rags is the only reason our Shox are not going to as good as last year. First of all I would feel slighted if I were Stutz, Smith, Murry or Kyles (IMO not a big loss however). With that being said, Armstead & FVV will not miss a beat replacing Rags & D-Will at the point. D-Will is probably a little better than last year at SG. One could argue Wiggins is Murry with a better outside game. White or Early makes our 4 position more traditional than the smaller Smith was last year. And I believe the beast, although won't make us forget Stutz, but won't have to apologize at all for the production that will come this year.
I believe our depth is superior to last year. I will take Baker and Cotton over Kyles all day at the SG. I have already covered PG. We can play 4 at SF (Wiggins, Cotton, Wessel, Early). Smith and Hall were our 4's last year. I'll take White, Early and Hall this year, thank you. Our 5's were hard to beat last year with Stutz & Hall. I believe Hall will excel at the 5 this year, with Lufile & EO playing quality backup minutes.
No Joe Ragland, but Malcolm Armstead may very well be a reasonable facsimile based on what he showed at Shocker Madness. And Malcolm is a more experienced player at the D-1 level than Joe was. And we have yet to see what FVV will bring to the table. Plus we will have D-Will back and hopefully physically better than last year now that his foot has been repaired.
Even Wessel and Jake White appear to have taken major strides in their games. Ron Baker appears to have taken advantage of his redshirt year. Tekele Cotton is simply a solid, solid, solid get the job done coach's dream with a year of D-1 experience under his belt. Not sure if Derail will paly redshirt or not but it won't be because he can not shoot it.
Garrett's offensive production will be difficult to replace and Garrett was a very good defensive rebounder. However, I think we will probably by better defensively in the middle this year. Carl, EO and Chradrack should be able to man the 5 spot quite adequately, although we still need to see what Chadrack can bring to bear, but word is he and EO run the court great for big men. I think we have a group of bigs that are hostile, agile and mobile. If 3G can get them to understand the difference between come 'ere and sic 'em then watch out.
We replace Toure, Ben and David with Cleanthony, Nick and Ron. A lot of experience to replace. Perhaps even more potential to replace it with.
3G really has a lot of pieces to mix and match with and based on his comments after Shocker Madness he and his coaching staff a still trying to figure out exactly what all they have and how to best utilize all these pieces.
Last year's team was great, but the finish to the season left a little sour taste behind. Hopefully, this year's team will replace that sour taste with a sweet treat at the end of the year.
Mal can shoot! As a freshman he started ahead of Clevin Hannah-sophomore at Chipola and shot 53% from 3. Shot a respectable 33% at OU. Will shoot 38% at WSU from 3.
Give Dofo a break, KW -- Lord knows he needs one. The 2011-12 Shocks were 27-5 in the regular season and a #5 seed; the 2012-13 edition was 26-8 and a #9. So up until March Madness began, he was actually sort of right. Ah, how things can change in a couple of weekends, though, especially when you get a tougher draw as a #5 seed than you do as a #9.

No because Pitt was in the big east so they are automatically a tougher opponent than mid major VCU no matter what :)
