Follow up question: do you have the desire to bring in players next year that show energy and toughness combined with basketball skills, or do you think you can teach this current group to be more energetic and tough?

Great question. Here’s my outside the box thought.

Beings that we are now learning in the NIL world, the rules are that there are no rules, if I’m PM, I take 50%, 75% of my own salary (Mills’s salary)…whatever it takes (realistically) and use that to buy my team. If that doesn’t get it done, then PM will know that it is him and his system. If it works, its upside for him in the long run.

If he brings the same group back, the upside is maybe 10th place finish in the league. They’ll win more game just due to age and experience, Mills will be happy that he’s on plan with his improvement and we’ll be rebuilding the entire roster the following year. Might as well start next year.

That strikes me as “we’re stuck with you, so you’re my guys, let’s stay positive and do what we can.” I don’t think he’s seriously pleased enough with many of these players. We’ll find out in the off season

The lack boxing out contributed to all of the offensive rebounds by Temple who is 12th out of 14 teams in the AAC in rebounding margin. Both teams missed alot of close in shots yesterday. Over and over WSU seems to play with some energy and momentum the first half. Then we seem to lull ourself to sleep the 2nd half and eventually lose the leads we had. We have no defensive stoppers and little help D. Even so, forget the idea of mixing in some zone defenses. No way would we at least give that an opportunity.

The loss yesterday at home defined this whole Season since we entered into Conference play. No prognosticators seen this coming at this last place level at all. If I'm breathing, I will be seeing this through and hoping for better results to follow.

Looking at the box score... I know Ridgnal has a hot head and basically got that tech for the bench .. but WHY DID HE ONLY HAVE 10 min.... He had 6 rebounds in 10 min. For a team struggling to grab rebounds, why did we not put one of our best rebounders on the floor.

Also Cortes with 3 TOs in only 14 min .. yeesh. Made up for a little bit with the 4 assists to Ballard .. but 3 TO from a "PG" in that little time isn't good.

Temple had a gameplan to crash the glass on offense. I noticed early in the game that they were rebounding all 5 guys on offense when most teams rebound 2-3 and send the others back to prevent the fast break. We're not a fast break team, so good gameplan by Temple. I expect the last 3 teams we play to follow this plan. Mills suffers from a problem of not being able to see this type of stuff and adjust at halftime. For whatever reason, we regress almost every 2nd half.

I'm not going to be upset about Ridgnal sitting. He flopped on the floor after being bumped and started a bunch of **** that didn't need to happen. Consequences are good.
