Even though Evansville doesn't bring much to the MVC, it is the closest MVC school to where I live and sometimes the only chance I get to see the Shox play live other than STL.

Perhaps their move is a preemptive strike as they are worried about a MoVal implosion. Let's face it, where would they go if the MoVal disolved. They don't have too many options. Wouldn't they rather try to at least have some say in their conference affiliation? These rumors highlight the need for the MoVal Commish to strengthen the Valley. UE, though a weak member, could be a precursor of other schools bolting. What does ADES do if a CU, MSU, BU, or IlSU departs the Valley? We saw the BigXII almost implode and schools leaving mainly due to rumor, speculation, and dislike of Texas. What say you ADES? Does he add football and try to move up, or does he use his influence to try to strengthen the MoVal? Can he move up to a stronger basketball conference, or does he endeavor to push out the weaker members? UE departing could make for some interesting strategic decisions.

Love to be rid of them. Just don't see the nothern Valley members adding another southern team to replace them if they leave.

As of now, there are two southern teams in the MVC: WSU and MSU

CU would vote to add anyone that would strengthen the MVC. So would WSU. I don't know about the others. I'm convinced that Drake and Bradley would only vote based on travel. Same with UE if they were still around when such a vote took place. Others are kind of wildcards to me. UNI has some financial concerns, as does MSU, but they may favor a move to strengthen the conference. More so MSU than UNI.
