  • Evansville bolting for greener pastures?

I just read a thread on MVCFans speculating Evansville to the Horizon. Just wondering what Shocker fans thought of the possibility.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

Is there an official statement out there or is this just a random Missouri State-esque fan blowing smoke up the pipe?

I just don't think we could get that lucky.

This is from Scooter, I think he's a Bradley fan. He was citing sources from Milwaukee that are Horizon Beat guys. May be something to this. It wasn't an E'Ville fan pretending to be CaseyGarrison for Prez.

That would be wonderful news -- almost too good to be true, which is why I'll believe it when it happens. But in the meantime, I'll sure be hoping.

This could be a really good news, really bad news thing.

The really good news is the Valley is purging Evansville....the REALLY bad news is the Valley is about to replace Evansville.

Remember when we replaced Tulsa with Evansville and UNI? If UE leaves, what do replace them with? SIU-Edwardsville and Xenon International Academy?

Don't worry, Doc -- Xenon dropped football.

                    (Oops.)

Seriously, a couple of names that come to mind are Oral Roberts and Saint Louis. How bad could either of those be?

I guess we could ask an Evansville fan.......

Oh yeah....well does anyone else have an idea?

Xenon has a campus less than a mile from my house!!!

                        What about DeVry? Phoenix?

I don't think going with nine for a while would be such a bad thing but I doubt Elgin feels that way.

My reaction to this happening would be like when the FBI guys cut the power to Nakatomi Plaza in Die Hard and they were able to open the safe, pure joy.

                            SLU is never happening.

                            Murray State would be intriguing.
                            Milwaukee wouldn't be bad.
                            Denver has lots of potential.
New Mexico State would be great.

I'm too tired to think of others right now.

More likely moves by Elgin would be Little Rock, SEMO, Edwardsville, UMKC, UNO, The Dakotas, Western Illinois

                            All of those suck.

My concern, I have little to no faith in Elgin.
