WSU (9-11, 1-6) at Tulsa ( 2-5, 11-8) Game Thread

My pick six would be QB, KP, HB, and XB, ugh, make that a pick four. QB and KP are the two most important ! Both have more upside and I hope they find it here..........together.

Not just you, but I'm a little surprised how many think Rogers is easy to replace. He definitely needs to up his defense. However, among the regulars, leads the team is scoring at 15.2 ppg (next is at 11.8), shoots .386 from 3 (2nd is Sr Ridgnal.325), tied at 1st in FT% at .750 with DeGray, basically tied for 1st in A/TO %, and 2nd in steals with 25 (best is 26). Now if Mills can recruit an experienced player from a team in a top 15 conference that can match that, I'm all ears.

Some of our problems would be minimal with a strong PG. CR as a catch and shot guy would be perfect for his game. He can not go to the basket at all, handles are weak. A floor general that can drive and dish, creating plays for others, would have made some of these guys look a whole lot different.

2."He has extremely weak handles". Shouldn't a player with weak handles turn the ball over a lot, particularly if he plays a lot? He is 4th in TOs on the team yet plays the most minutes and is a guard who usually does handle the ball more than most others. The next 3 below him in minutes have 55, 54, and 39 TOs to his 33. He is basically tied for the best A/TO ratio with 2 others. Who do you think should handle the ball more that does it better?

3."hunts shots way more than he should". Doesn't someone that hunts their shots take a fair number of bad shots that miss and/or maybe doesn't shoot well? Also, shouldn't some of the things in #1 above be worse than they are?

Why officials continue to grant fouls for it I will never know. I used to just internally shake my head when kids would try that one.

With a good true PG with well timed passes at the right spot, Rogers could be really lethal. We don't get to see that this year at all.

A good true PG solves all of that except defense. They only give it to Rogers when he is open and ready to fire. He won't need the handles much. The defense is easily fixed with coaching if you didn't have 10 other fires to put out first.

In basketball, it's mostly just play on unless they're doing something that could be viewed as dangerous. That's where flopping and throwing yourself to the floor can be addressed in different ways as that becomes dangerous to the player on the floor and those around them. Throwing your head back doesn't cause any actual harm or present any danger to anyone else. They just look like idiots when they're not getting the call.
