  • I’ve watched almost all of our games this season, missing only K State for a family event (of course one of the good ones). This has to be one of the worst disciplined Shocker teams I have seen. Just appalling mistake after appalling mistake. I am not a student of the game beyond having watched 40 years of the sport played at very high and low levels. This is a low level.

Enough is also not said about the talent gap to our middling conference peers. I firmly believe solid-not star-performers from ignominious ‘90’s teams would waltz in to our starting lineup and improve our team.

This undoubtedly gets worse before it gets better. I do believe it will get better. We may be taking buses to Kansas Wesleyan and Pitt St by the time the NCAA fully self immolates, but it will be college basketball played by players that care in packed gyms of appreciative fans. I can support that.

Wichita State, home of the All-Americans.

        • Man, I know what job I need to apply for next. I’m sure I can spin some BS statistics as well.

Actually, now that I think about it, that’s been a red flag of most of the employees I’ve ended up letting go from my company. They’ve all talked the talk initially but can’t execute.

Not sure about the dollar figures, but I know that Mills' contract states that the end of a contract year is June 30. So, technically, his contract does not expire until June 30, 2028.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

It's a shame Marshall isn't being paid more than the other two.

He is. His payments were around the same, but for far longer. All told, his settlement was $7.75 million.

                    I should've stated for '24 & '25.

Well, I guess he takes what he can get when he was forced to leave for being a psycho.

Some of the winningest bball programs in the country remain as such regardless of who's at the helm. As long as the flow of NBA players continue, so will the wins.
And some don't, see Arkansas and K-State with tons of money spent on players.

Law of large numbers my friend. Increase that sample size. There's always outliers.

On average, the best players today are in the two major conferences, earning the most dough, and winning the most "nationally important" games.

Wichita State was an example of an outlier in 2013. And boy was it a beautiful thing.

                          • If WSU can find a coach that can make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t, the NIL money will follow. Wichitans really get behind a successful WSU basketball program.

We start finishing at the upper end of the AAC and start making the NCAA tournament again, the NIL money will come and then we can have a shot of landing some top 50-ranked players.
