Perhaps a junior high girls basketball coach can come in to teach Mills some baseline out of bounds plays.

A couple of my favorites: 1. in-bounds to QB so he can throw it to the other team for a breakaway slam, and 2. Throw the ball and catch it out of bounds.

Well, I guess there is also the one where AJM rolls off a pick and throws up a falling, fadeaway with a hand in the face prayer. That’s a good one too.

I saw better ball rotation, not as much over-penetration. Sure, there were some goofball plays, but you should have watched ChicKUn vs. Iowa St. the other night. It looked like a stumbling, bumbling, cluster**** at times.

We have a lot of talent on the floor, some really quick guards with excellent penetration skills. Ballard knows what to do near the rim, and Washington is our own little Michael Jordan.

Defense needs to improve, and I think it will. I liked the effort most times tonight.

There's a very good chance we haven't seen this team's ceiling yet this year.

We have much higher caliber athletes on the floor now. Shocking!

GodShawGod steals a horrifically telegraphed pass from Lil' Rocket and then is able to dribble fairly unmolested the length of the court until he throws it out of bounds. I swear he was dribbling with both hands. LMFAO! It's like watching play from the days of the peach basket.

I agree we have some talent on the floor this year. That talent has us in 12th place in a watered-down 13-team conference. That talent lost to UMKC. That talent lost two home games to other bottom-dwelling or mediocre teams in our conference. There is something causing that talent to be wasted because talent isn't winning any games that matter. We're second to last place in a conference that's weaker than the also watered-down MVC.

We lost to UTSA. San Antonio can probably put 20,000 fans in the stands for a high school football team, but plays basketball in a gym that's about what the better high school basketball teams in Kansas play in.

Yeah, our conference situation does NOT pass the smell test. But I bet half the teams in our league could beat a lot more brand name teams than you might expect on any given night. I was quite surprised by ECU's... thickness. They had some men. And Walker looked like Black Jesus. I know... I know... "our suckiness made him look as such". But... he was a 5-star recruit by Rivals at one time....

I've only watched like 4.5 college bball games so far this year (one was the stupid ChicKUns). I don't expect us to win any games I watch. That's how I go into them. Tonight's game was kinda entertaining to me from a dribble, hustle, drive, dunk, block perspective. I liked how we got down and dug our way back out. I think we have the pieces to win some games. Maybe we're havin' a little bad luck. But we did beat the Silo Kittens.

I liked Ballard's goaltend at the beginning of the game. Tell me how many players in college bball can catch a jump shot right at the apex of the arc like that big, ugly fella did. We have some potential... Lotsa games left. Just gotta improve a little each week, then get hot in the conference tourney. Keep the expectations low, low, lowwwww. We're all gettin' a little old in here to be sweatin' a situation where the entire college bball world is upside down.

I know you're trolling with your contrarian schtick, but I actually agree with this post. If Mills fixes the perimeter defense and figures out how to use Ballard a lot more, we could have a fun squad by conference tourney time.

Mills did figure out Ballard a few games ago (but we got smoked on defense that game so I am not sure if the impact stuck). And he did figure out his best lineup by the end of the night last night. Whether he continues to use both of those in large doses remains to be seen. Simply using that lineup from the last 5 minutes by itself will narrow the gap in our perimeter defense hole by itself, IMO.
