I've paid money to SASO for scholarships, and I don't see anything wrong with a minimal monthly amount of money to go to most or all athletes for minimal expenses. I think all Div. 1 athletes should (at the very least) have a meal plan, room and board, and tuition totally paid (maybe a small stipend of discretionary spending money too).
However, when we begin contributing with our donations to college students becoming millionaires, I won't give another cent, and that's what we will have to do to keep up with other schools. If we have some big money donors who want to see WSU keep up with KU, etc., I see nothing wrong with them or others donating money to our athletes. I don't fault anyone for doing this if they want to, but not me.
I have other financial priorities. Those millionaire athletes, imo, need to go pro (NBA, NFL, G League, Overseas professional leagues, etc.).

They’ve never needed to live off of me or live in my basement. if they would have needed my help, I would have offered, but they made a clean break after college, and didn’t need me. Now they do better than me. Good for them. It makes me proud of them.

I posted this in the post-game thread from the Memphis game in Wichita, and thought it needed to be in this thread.

The $108,000 monthly payments to Isaac Brown end in April 2026.
Mills' contract ends on June 30, 2028. If the contract is terminated before the end of year 3 (March 2026), he's owed the full amount of his contract. If after year 3, he's owed 75% of the remainder.
This is all to say there's probably nothing that will be done even if we still suck next season, unless someone drops a pretty serious bag off at the WSU athletic department.
After year 3, Brown's payments are nearing completion, and we'll only have about 7 months left on Marshall's.The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Gonna be lots of criticism here but I don’t think this loss is on Mills. We missed open layups, free throws, etc. The game plan and x & os was good but we just don’t have competent players beyond Ballard and Rogers (except rogers defense needs to improve).

Also, all of his recruits that he plays must, too, be incompetent, 2 others of his recruits he seldom plays because they're not as good as the others and another is a redshirt.
Makes total sense that the loss (or losses) are not on him.
