Now that we have a new university president that is surely reading and hanging on each and every post here on Shockernet with great curiosity to see what the pulse of the WSU Shocker fan base looks like, I thought I'd get him set straight with a short story.

Once upon a time I was chatting with a chap that went to North Carolina and I asked him if he would mind calling Roy and seeing if he could get 'em to play Wichita State.
He responded he'd enjoy seeing that butt whoopin', then asked if I cheer for Kansas in the NCAA tournament once WSU is knocked out?
I kindly let him know that: A Wichita State Shocker fan cheering for Kansas to win the tournament because they are both from Kansas is like a man from France cheering on Germany to win World War II because they are both from Europe.
It's not the best analogy, I know, because a Shocker would never surrender and we generally make love with our genitals. But you get the idea.
Everyone lived happily ever after.
