My brother saw X jam over Olajuwon and Sampson simultaneously in an exhibition game in Houston years ago.. He was just a fledgling rookie.... Welcome to the NBA Akim and Ralph...

I sat next to X on a flight from ICT to ORD. He was not chatty that day so I kept my mouth shut.
X was perfect from the field (and the free throw line) in his first ever game as a Shocker. 5 for 5 and 3 for 3, 13 points- or something like that, Nov '81. I believe that might still be a Shocker record.

The one game that X had in his freshman years that really stood out for me was where he grabbed 7 rebounds in 7 minutes. I think it was Dick Versace that accused WSU of padding the X-Mans rebound stats so X went out and grabbed 20+ at their place over their 7 footer.

I don't know about that. I was at the game (like others here surely were.. maybe rdr saw another game after that), and X was PERFECT from the field. (assists.. who knows). 'Didn't miss a thing. Just like a machine from day one. Air ball! Air ball! Air ball! couldn't possibly be more bullschitt.

Wichita State's recruiting class was ranked second in the country that year (just behind Georgetown): McDaniel- 13 points.. Sherrod 11 points.. Dreiling 7 points.. all in their first (anticipated freshman) game as Shockers.

I can't see anybody breaking X's record of being perfect, literally, shooting in their first game as a Shocker.
