Who wants to see the future of Shocker Basketball?

The way we do our summers is smart. Many of our players are going to summer school and scrimmaging together. The books come first here. Playing together this summer is of essence with so many new players. Here is my projected starting line-up for today. Hall, Early, Wiggons, D-Will, Armstead. However, FVV, and Baker may be on tomorrow's projected line-up. The beauty of all of this is, we are so deep with so many players that are capable of starting games and others that play good in a game that will finish for us in games. We can play small ball, field a very tall team, a very tough defensive line-up, or a lights out offensive squad, depending on what is needed game in and game out. This will be a very fun Season and having a handy-dandy Roster-Program will be handy at first.
How about this? Maybe we don't start out near as strong as last Seasons team. But hark, at the end when it counts the most, we get hot as a team!!!! Very, very hot!!!Last edited by forevershockerfan; June 9, 2012, 01:10 AM.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

Baker looks like a better maker than Ogirri, with better handles and drives than Ogirri had. Someone speculated on what Baker and VanVleet can do with 4 years together. It seems we'll have a 7' center (Uwadiae) and a 6'8" guy who can nail 3's (Green) as either Jr's or Sr's that year. The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Thanks for all the great videos and comments, Cold.
From time-to-time we have been burned a few times in years past concerning exaggerated hype. But watching these talented bunch of guys work out does, I've got to admit, gets one's blood pressure pounding. With the right hardwork, training, circumstances, and a certain degree of luck, there certainly appears to be several young men present with stardome written all over them.
May the basketball gods smile kindly on these young Shockers and our entire coaching staff.

These videos just have me giddy for next year. Baker surprises me the most. I knew he could hit the long ball, but I didn't know he couldn't miss! As well as that drive?!?! Man, screw the predictions, I pick us 1st for the Valley again. These guys are good for freshmen and transfers.
I hope I'm not getting my hopes too high, but honestly, I don't think I am.
IS IT NOVEMBER YET????

Even though it's just pick-up games it's hard to miss the talent and keep from drooling just a little bit. Some seasons we had some potential recruits mixed in, most of these guys are indeed Shockers. I wouldn't want to guess whether a player starts, comes in off the bench or you just play in situations. I'll leave that up to the guy we play the big bucks. And we better be able to pay him more after we are dancing next year!

Many, many moons ago when I attended summer scrimmages, it was difficult not to be deceived. The Shocks way back when we only had 4-6 decent players, would not have similar talent on the depth chart. Thus, these 4-6 players looked way better than they were in scrimmages than later in actual games because they were not being guarded much by the drop in talent from their teammates. NOT SO at all now. Now we have 10-12 solid players that are really challenging each other to get better.
The 40 minutes to be played in games now will be a fierce challenge for each player to earn. No player this Season will have a guarantee on a start or a finish in games without earning it like never before here. The talent is solid and the players are very close in various abilities. Yes, each player has strengths and areas of needed improvement. However, not 1 Shocker from where I see has the world by the tail here because other very good players want playing time at each and every position and there is talent galore for each slot. Yes, lots of talent and when they learn to mesh it all together, watch out. This may take a while. No, we will NOT go undefeated and no use thinking is will all come about overnight.
Everybody and their uncle of the professional prognosticaters will pick Creighton to win the Valley and the Shocks between second to fourth place. Actually, I bet we are picked 3rd more than second. Thus, between the lines is where this battleground will be decided. Get ready for a very wild ride.Last edited by forevershockerfan; June 10, 2012, 12:35 PM.Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.
