Monday after the summer camp, our new team hit the floor. The first thing I noticed was how long and lean they look. Wiggins and Early must have a 26" waist although wide shoulders. The two exceptions are Armstead and Van Fleet. Fred is a fire plug. Much thicker in person than the videos we have seen. Most of them including last year's squad are ripped.
The pickup games were as expected, "One pass and shoot". Fred hit several threes but did not get a chance to show his passing skills. Cleanthony can get above the rim and went after the dunks to establish his presence to the team. He will be a factor from the start. I watched Wiggins at Hutch in March and although good, he was much more active and athletic than I remember. Probably due to zero defense today. He is by far the fastest player on the court. Derail Green was there but not noticeable. Henry Uwadae was a no show, although I left early.
