    What's not to like?

WSU was 8-3 in 1982 (http://www.goshockers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=7500&ATCLID=651360) I thought they went to something like the Raisin Bowl, or some other fairly obscure bowl that year, but they did not get a bowl bid. WSU's most recent bowl appearance was the Sun Bowl in 1961.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

There weren't nearly as many bowls in 1982 as there are today. An 8-3 team today would be bowl bound for sure.

Does club football have to have the same rules as Div 1 football? Maybe we could just go with indoor football instead.

Personally I think WSU is missing the boat - WSU need Powder Puff Football

@Aargh the Shocks did play in the 1948 Raisin Bowl. They lost to Pacific 26-14. http://www.mmbolding.com/bowls/Raisin_1948.htm

The Raisin Bowl was played only 5 times.

I really like the Texaco sign in the first picture and the car in the second is fantastic.

                      • For the record, season one, episode five of "Coach" features the Screaming Eagles taking on Wichita in the home opener. Wichita was one of the worst teams in college football that year and Hayden Fox's pregame speech to his team was that Wichita was so bad they didn't need to give the team a pep talk.

Minnesota State lost the game by only having 10 men on the field when Wichita scored. Not the best Coach episode ever, but for people involved in this discussion, I'm sure you would like it.
There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese.

                        • The big thing that came out of that win over Minnesota State was that it opened up some recruiting contacts in Minnesota which eventually yielded some fruit when we signed Jake White. And so know we have the link to Shocker basketball that justifies the inclusion of the Club Football thread on the Men's Basketball Forum. Nice work @MoValley John:.

                              • Not sure if this is posted else where and even though it is a few years old, I still think what AD Sexton is saying still applies today.

Provost Dr. Gary L. Miller discusses football at Wichita State University with Dr. Eric Sexton and why it was dropped in 1986.
