For the day, the Shockers are:
6 and 3
Regular Season (Games of Interest):
2020 – (#RV) WSU Beat Tulsa in Wichita 79-57. Erik Stevenson scored 18 points with nine rebounds and Wichita State beat Tulsa 79-57 on Sunday to end American Athletic Conference play. The Shockers are the fourth-seed in the conference's post-season tournament, which starts Thursday in Fort Worth, Texas. Wichita State gets a first-round bye and will play in the quarterfinals Friday against the winner of No. 5 UConn and 12th-seed Tulane. Jamarius Burton had 14 points for Wichita State (23-8, 11-7), which earned its fourth straight home victory. Jaime Echenique added 13 points.
2020 – All post-season tournaments were cancelled due to the Covid Pandemic.
2014 – (#2) WSU Won vs. Missouri State in St. Louis, Mo. 67-42. MVC Tournament (St. Louis, Mo./ Scottrade Center). All those runaway wins, it's hard for unbeaten Wichita State to pick a favorite. "I can't remember which one was our best game, but if you think so, then OK," point guard Fred VanVleet said after the second-ranked Shockers encountered little resistance in a 67-42 rout of Missouri State in the Missouri Valley Conference tournament semifinals on Saturday. Coach Gregg Marshall said he's got a "fun team to watch, a fun team to coach, a fun team to be around." He scoffed at naysayers who might criticize strength of schedule. "Who can find fault with 33-0? No, I take that back, I know people find fault with 33-0. I don't. I enjoy it," Marshall said. "I've enjoyed it the whole year.” Cleanthony Early scored 20 points with three 3-pointers and a pair of dunks and Wichita State began celebrating early in the second half. The 22-point romp over Evansville in the quarterfinals had a similar feel. "Our motto is to `play angry," center Kadeem Coleby said. "But at the same time, we're out there on the court smiling, and we're having fun with each other."
2013 – Won vs. Missouri State in St. Louis, Mo. 69-59. Carl Hall had 18 points and 12 rebounds as Wichita State defeated Missouri State 69-59 Friday night in the quarterfinals of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. Ron Baker added 15 points for the second-seeded Shockers (25-7), who will face sixth-seeded Illinois State in Saturday's semifinals. Wichita State dominated the game inside, outscoring the Bears 36-18 in the paint and outrebounding them 43-24. But the Shockers didn't pull away for good until scoring eight straight points to take a 54-46 lead with 5:45 remaining. Missouri State never got closer than six points the rest of the way.
2003 – Won vs. Bradley in St. Louis, Mo. 70-66
1929 – Won vs. Emporia State in Winfield 24-18
1928 – Won vs. Wichita Elks in Cathedral (Okla.) H.S. 39-17
