    2017 – Won at Evansville in Evansville, Ind. 82-65. Wichita State (16-4, 6-1 Missouri Valley) bounced back from a 76-62 loss to conference-leader Illinois State on Saturday that snapped a six-game winning streak. Evansville (10-10, 1-6) has lost six of seven. The Purple Aces led 46-42 with 13 minutes left. Conner Frankamp then made consecutive 3-pointers, sparking a 29-11 run and the Shockers led 71-57 with about four minutes left. Frankamp added another 3 and finished with nine points, and Morris had six points, including a dunk, during the stretch. Frankamp was 4 of 4 from long range and had 14 points. Landry Shamet and Darral Willis Jr. added 11 points apiece for the Shockers, who shot 51 percent from the fiel

    2016 – WSU (#RV) beat Indiana State in Wichita 82-62. Fred VanVleet scored a career-high 29 points, Ron Baker added 16 and Wichita State beat Indiana State 82-62 on Sunday for its seventh straight victory. Baker had a 3-point play during a 10-0 run early in the second half for a 51-37 lead. VanVleet tied his career best on a 3-pointer with eight minutes left and set the mark one minute later on a layup. Anton Grady's layup with 3:34 remaining gave Wichita State its largest lead of the game at 22 points. Wichita State (12-5, 6-0 Missouri Valley) made just 41 percent of its shots but went 28 of 34 from the stripe (82 percent).

    2015 – (#13) WSU won at Evansville in Evansville, Ind. 61-41. Wichita State senior Tekele Cotton has produced his share of highlight-reel dunks. On Saturday, Cotton showed he also has the endurance of a distance runner. Cotton and the No. 13 Shockers forced Evansville into its worst offensive game of the season in a 61-41 Wichita State victory. "Tekele Cotton — he runs a half-marathon today chasing D.J. Balentine off hundreds of screens," WSU coach Gregg Marshall said. "He keeps him to 16 points, which is a little under his average, but it takes him 17 shots to get there." "You just got to get ready mentally and really zone in on what they do offensively," Cotton said. "It's just basketball at the end of the day." Ron Baker and Darius Carter tallied 18 points apiece to lead the Shockers (16-2, 6-0 Missouri Valley).

    2009 – Beat Creighton in Wichita 74-61. Toure Murry had 17 points to lead Wichita State to a 74-61 victory over Creighton on Saturday at Koch Arena. Wichita State (7-11, 1-6 Missouri Valley) never led by less than six in the game's final 29 minutes. Ramon Clemente had 12 points and nine rebounds for the Shockers, helping them to a 47-22 rebounding advantage. The Bluejays cut Wichita State's lead to 58-52 on Justin Carter free throws with 7:13 remaining. But the Shockers answered with a 11-2 run highlighted by A.J. Hawkins' driving layup and a Clevin Hannah 3-pointer.-

Couisnard had 10 points and eight rebounds to lead Wichita State to a 81-65 win over Evansville Monday night in a Missouri Valley Conference matchup. The Shockers (12-2, 5-1) outscored Evansville (9-7, 3-5) 42-15 in the first half, led by Miller's 10 points. Evansville went more than seven minutes without scoring in the first half until Lucious Wagner's 3-pointer with 1:23 left made the score 40-13 -- a 21-0 run by the Shockers. Although the Purple Aces outscored Wichita State 50-39 in the second half, they never pulled closer than 16 points.

    1998 – Beat Southern Illinois in Wichita 58-57. Jason Perez hit a 3-pointer at 0:01 to win the game.

    1987 – Won at Southern Illinois in Carbondale, Ill. 81-65

    1976 – Beat Tulsa in Wichita 75-71

    1972 – Won at West Texas A&M in Amarillo, Texas 70-65

    1967 – Beat Drake in Wichita 91-85 (OT)

      The original BLACKOUT. Driving to this game, my mom asked if WSU would ever win again. "Oh sure," I said. "They'll get a win at some point." I had no reason to think it would be that day though. There was just something in the air after that game that said that the program was headed back in the right direction.
