          Are you ****ing kidding me?

You guys are seriously delusional. Marshall loses his cool and sucker punches Shaq in the back of the head and that's Shaq's fault?

This is the dumbest **** I've read in a while.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

Tell me you don’t know the whole story about Shaq, without telling me you don’t know the whole story about Shaq.

So you go from something nobody saw to “sucker punch”. Join the crybabies you’re part of the problem.

Not exactly where it started or my understanding of events. Shaq loses his cool and, from behind, puts one of his teammates, going up for a layup, on the floor with a hard foul. This was after he was already upset about having to be at practice, shortly after his mother's funeral in Oklahoma. Add to this, that Shaq didn't want to hear HCGM's rant for what he did to a teammate and walk off the court into the tunnel where Marshall followed and no other person saw what HCGM did as a "punch", except for what Shaq told his teammates.

Anyone feel free to correct me if they have better knowledge.

This actually might solve the funding problem - we could probably pick up where we left off with GM and only have IB to pay off ? Just a thought - I'd be on board with MT also....actually I'd take pretty much any of the local high school ... even a Biddy coach at this point.

I'm in on the billboard - you know how to get ahold of me Shoxlax - make it happen

Didn’t think that Shaq’s mom had died at this point yet. I think she had just been diagnosed with cancer.

Gregg might have been an ass, but if a player’s mom just died, he’d give that guy as much time as he needed.

I’m just glad we’re back to debating the details of the incident again. It’s always a pleasure.

Thanks, WuShock16 for the correction. That does make more sense.

Also, Shaq was interviewed by a reporter before the first (and only) NCAA tournament game when he was a senior and stated that he and Marshall were fine and had a good understanding between each other or that at least he did and hoped Coach did as well.

What we think about Marshall doesn't matter. What matters is what the rest of the world thinks about Marshall. Marshall isn't going to be recruiting basketball players from ShockerNet posters.

The rest of the world thinks Marshall punched a player and choked an assistant. The rest of the world has seen some of Marshall's tirades and many think he's a bit of an a-hole.

Jans was unemployable for years because he grabbed a woman's butt in a bar. The woman didn't complain but some fans who saw it did. Punching a player is more of a problem than grabbing a butt in a bar. Doesn't matter if the punch actually happened. The perception outside of SN is that it did happen.

Marshall has said many times that he wanted to retire early and never wanted another rebuild job. That's two reasons for him to never return to coaching - particularly at WSU.

Then there's the albatross. He got fired from WSU. His severance package leaves him and his kids financially solid for the rest of their lives. Why would he have the slightest interest in returning to coaching at WSU?

On the recruiting trail opposing coaches would be showing the video of the Canada meltdown, relating the story of punching a player in the head and choking an assistant.

That was a good era, but it's over. It doesn't matter how much you want that era back. That's not going to happen. That doesn't change if Marshall is the next coach.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.
We like to cut down nets and get sized for championship rings.

Zero chance 3G would come back for anything less than the full amount he was making before. So an additional 1.5 to 2 million a year more than we are paying him now. Most likely he would want back pay too because rehiring would void the separation agreement.

                              This one.....not yet at least.

Keep throwing up a billboard every time we are mad and it will lose its effectiveness.

I am willing to let this play out and see what Saal does.

It's all about timing with something like a billboard and I don't think it is the right time. Saal just got his job. Give the man time before we try to force the issue.

                              Emails and calls.....yes
                              This…

Saal hasn’t even had one offseason to get it right yet.

Now, it’s not a bad idea by any means. If we’re in the same spot a year from now, then it’s time for something like that.

It's not going to happen, but I bet he'd get some of those big money donors back to pay it.
