  • When will WSU win a conference game?

If we don't rebound in a hurry, we may get into a pretty hard stretch. Cincinnati at home is quite a bit tougher than ECU, while USF and Tulsa are competing for the bottom of conference and should be easier. But if we are winless heading into Memphis, we'll have a string of tough games including against arguably the best team in the country.

Our schedule is (rankings are Kenpom):
    • vs #73 Cincinnati (Jan 5)
    • @ #166 USF (Jan 8)
    • vs #238 Tulsa (Jan 14)
    • @ #32 Memphis (Jan 19)
    • @ #145 SMU (Jan 22)
    • vs #93 Tulane (Jan 25)
    • @ #174 ECU (Jan 29)
    • vs #1 Houston (Feb 2)
    • @ #238 Tulsa (Feb 5)
    • vs #49 UCF (Feb 8)
    • vs #145 SMU (Feb 12)
    • @ #125 Temple (Feb 16)
    • vs #32 Memphis (Feb 23)
    • @ #93 Tulane (Feb 26)
    • @ #1 Houston (Mar 2)
    • vs #166 USF (Mar 5)

I think we have a good shot against Tulsa so I picked in a week or two. There are so many things wrong with the way the team plays it's hard to see anything positive right now. Rebounding is always my go to tell. We have no idea how to block out as a team. The technique and effort is terrible. This is 100% coaching. If I was the AD I would fire IB immediately. He is destroying our program. Every day IB is there will cost us time to rebuild. It's sad because the players are being hurt the most. IB is in so far over his head and he knows it. He is just going to hang on and collect his check.

Anything can happen, even this Thursday (although quite unlikely).
Fortunately, Tulsa is really bad this year.
      Really bad.

      That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

Tulsa might be worse than us. Still doesn't mean we win though.

Is what's his name still at Tulsa?

No, I believe Frank Haith is an assistant at Memphis.

Sterling Gaston-Chapman… still on the roster.

And he'd fit in as he's shooting under 12% from 3

I see the Shox struggling to get four wins in conference. Especially if Walton and or Porter miss time. Scott is not ready to run the point and neither is Flanagan for any extended period. Team is too undisciplined with nobody to hold them accountable.

It’s crazy that we haven’t had a stable PG situation since Fred graduated. You’d think WSU could pull in a big time PG on the heals of Fred going to the NBA.

I thought so too, but then I remembered that at first FVV didn't exactly get drafted and really grinded his way into his spot where he is now. By the time that he's in his spot where he's getting attention and people are recognizing that he came from here, we were already beginning to struggle.
