For the day, the Shockers are:
18 and 12
Regular Season (Games of Interest):
2021 - Won at Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi 83-79. Wichita State was 52% shooting (26 of 50) to the Rebels 42% (28 of 66). Ole Miss picked up 29 points off 15 Wichita State turnovers while committing only nine itself. The loss ended the Rebels streak of six straight home wins dating to last season, leaving them one shy of the longest winning streak in the history of The Pavilion. The Shockers interim coach Isaac Brown, who took over when Greg Marshall resigned Nov. 17, is a native of Pascagoula, Miss., and played for Ole Miss coach Kermit Davis at Texas A&M in the 1990-91 season. With the win, Brown became just the second Wichita State coach in the modern era to win his first three true road contests. The other was Gary Thompson early in the 1964-65 season.
2014 - (#8) Won at Southern Illinois in Carbondale, Ill. 82-67. Fred VanVleet had 17 points, seven assists, two steals and no turnovers, and the Shockers remained unbeaten behind 62 percent shooting, opening Missouri Valley Conference play with an 82-67 victory Thursday night. Hinson returned after missing one game due to the death of his son-in-law, 31-year-old Niles Thomason, on Christmas Day while visiting family. In an emotional postgame news conference, the usually fiery coach blamed himself for the loss, saying he just wasn't up to it. He also pointed out that Wichita State was very, very good and coming off a Final Four appearance, and said the key to game was the "the little stinker VanVleet."
1993 - Won at Indiana State in Terre Haute, Ind. 73-69
1988 - Beat Minnesota in Wichita 78-68
1982 - (#2) WSU Beat New Mexico State in Wichita 63-50
1965 - (#2) WSU Beat North Texas in Wichita 107-88
