With a healthy Porter I think 9 is the absolute max. I'm guessing 6 or 7. If Porter misses significant time then it's going to be worse.Infinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

I'm going with 11 Wins or better:
Most Likely A WIn
vs. East Carolina, vs. Tulsa, vs. SMU, vs. South Florida
Likely A Win
vs. Cincinnati, vs. Tulane, @ Tulsa
Toss-Up
@ South Florida, @ SMU @ East Carolina, vs. UCF, @ Temple, vs. Memphis, @ Tulane
Likely A Loss
@ UCF
Most Likely A Loss
vs. Houston, @ Memphis, @ Houston
Thoughts?
Have to have a healthy Craig Porter
Have to go at least 4 and 3 for the Toss-Up games.
Have to win all Home Games except: UCF, Memphis, and Houston

In what universe is a game against Memphis a toss-up? Ever since IB took over, we’ve endured 3 absolute ass kickings.
If you said Houston, I’d at least concede that we’ve played well in the IB-led matchups against the Fighting Sampsons.78-65

Wit Porter out for ANY period of time it does not look good. I always try to be on the optimistic side but watching the game last night and the loss of KP gives me pause. I really expected this team given the schedule to be able to build on each game. The defense is light years ahead of the offense we run or try to run or not run at all. Just not shooting the ball well at all. And that will probably only get worse against better opposition. I'm along for the long haul no matter what but I see pain coming my way. Go Shocks

Regardless, let's take a more detailed review of the Memphis game (since you highlighted that pick) in Wichita on Thursday, February 23rd. The Shockers play at Temple in Philadelphia on Thursday, February 16th. Temple has a current NET of #211. So, I'm thinking that might not be too rough of an opponent and looks winnable, at least today on December 23, 2022.
Then, WSU has no games until the Memphis game. That is Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday off. One day off to travel back to Wichita and one mandatory day off by the NCAA for rest. That's at least four days to prep for the Tigers. The Shockers are currently at NET #107 and we might be on a 4-game winning streak with Memphis heading into town.
Whereas Memphis (Net #44) has a home game on Thursday, February 16th against UCF (NET #65) and then another game on the road on Sunday, February 19th against Houston (NET #2). That will give them Monday as day off by the NCAA for rest, a travel day to Wichita, so basically one day, perhaps two, to prep for Wichita.
As my post said, I'm not saying it's a "Win", but I do think we can get the game (two months out from today) to a "Toss-Up". I'm looking forward to your (WuShock16, shock and SubGod22) specific 18 picks.

I think reaper might be 76er in disguise.
You’ve got to be seriously smokin something to think anything is a most likely or likely win with this team. Then to have Memphis as a toss up?? Wow!
Particularly if porter misses any significant time. This team struggled to get the ball up the court against a swac team.
