2019 - Beat Oklahoma at INTRUST Bank Arena 80-75. A 12-0 second-half run lifted Wichita State to an 80-75 victory over Oklahoma on Saturday evening at INTRUST Bank Arena. A year after being outrebounded by 19 in a 32-point loss in Oklahoma City (both Marshall Era low-points), the Shockers (9-1) finished +17 on the glass and outscored the visiting Sooners 34-12 in the paint. WSU shot a season-best 90 percent from the foul line (18-of-20).
2013 - (#12) WSU beat Tennessee at INTRUST Bank Arena 70-61. Midway through the second half Saturday, Tennessee was following dunks with dunks and holding No. 12 Wichita State without a field goal for nearly 6 minutes. Then Tekele Cotton took over. He made two free throws. Then he blocked two Tennessee shots on the same possession, leading to a transition opportunity he finished with a runner while being fouled. The crowd of 14,356 in the downtown Intrust Bank Arena went crazy, and Wichita State would not trail again after Cotton's free throw made it 46-44 with 9:09 remaining. Darius Carter had 11 points and 14 rebounds while Cleanthony Early added 13 points for the Shockers (10-0), who are off to the best start in school history.
2011 - Beat Chicago State in Wichita 94-44. One of the largest Margin of Victory wins. Ben Smith scored 22 points as Wichita State rolled to a 94-44 victory over Chicago State Wednesday night. Joe Ragland had 12 points and David Kyles added 10 for the Shockers (8-2), winners of six straight. They had no problem with Chicago State (0-10), shooting 50 percent in the first half on the way to a 53-24 lead. Wichita State outrebounded the Cougars 53-34 and limited them to 27 percent shooting. Twelve players scored for the Shockers, who finished with 44 percent accuracy from the field.
