  • Today in Shockers Sports History: December 12th

For the day, the Shockers are:
    14 and 13

    Regular Season (Games of Interest):
2015 - Beat (#25) Utah at IBA in Wichita 67-50. Ron Baker recorded 4 steals. The first game of the MVC/Mountain West Challenge. The victory extended Wichita State's home winning streak to 36 games, the second-longest in the nation at the time.

2009 - Beat TCU in Wichita 80-68. J.T. Durley tied his career high with 19 points Saturday night to lead Wichita State to an 80-68 victory over Texas Christian. The Shockers (9-1), who never trailed, also got 17 points from Toure Murry and 16 from Clevin Hannah.

1988 - Won at Oral Roberts 92-91. The lead would change 21 times. Sasha Radunovich sank two free throws with no time remaining to win the game. He was fouled by ORU’s Rufus Freeman on a rebound under the basket as time ran out. Radunovich’s first free throw rolled around the rim and dropped. He calmly swished the second for the game-winner. ORU had taken the lead with 38 seconds to go on Clarence Thompson’s seventh three of the night. Haywoode Workman (who went on to play and officiate in the NBA) scored 28 points for ORU

    1981 - (#4) WSU Beat (#9) UAB in Wichita 75-60. WSU recorded 12 blocks.

1968 - Beat (#19) Iowa in Wichita 93-88. Ron Washington scored 30 points. Former WSU Coach Ralph Miller was in his 5th season with the Hawkeyes.

    1964 - Beat BYU in Wichita 81-65

    1955 - Beat Nebraska in Wichita 71-46

    1952 - Beat New Mexico A&M in Wichita 80-54

    1912 - Beat Sterling in Wichita 34-21
