I haven't attended for a couple of years. It was the worst I've seen. I'd guess 1000.

Thought about going…then remembered how much I disliked last year’s Madness. Stayed home…sounds like it was a wise choice. I’ve read a lot here and elsewhere that the woman screaming into the mic has to go. There is NO reason this should happen. I’ve heard it described repeatedly as PAINFUL. Please, athletic dept. Make it stop, now!!!! I won’t go to games if this is what’s going on…I truly have to protect my sanity. WSU needs to a lot better job with the game experience to get fans back…and do a lot better on the floor as well. Let’s play ball.

Sounds like the fans were treated to a little bit of everything except real basketball. When I go to watch a sporting event my #1 priority is watching the actually sporting event. If the action on the playing field is good I am really unconcerned about the side show stuff. If the action on the playing field is bad all the side show stuff will just irritate me further. Of course, that take may represent a small minority of what most fans are looking for. I will say I am not surprised with the complaints about the quality of the sound system. However, I wonder if it is as much or more about the acoustics of that building as it is about the sound system. Perhaps the sound systems is simply mismatched with the acoustics of the building.

I think some of the amenities with the concessions sound like they will be good changes. Otherwise, just put a good, solid team on the floor, play hard and smart basketball and win games. The fans ain't coming back for the side shows in my opinion. And if the side show experience sucks it will only provide an additional reason to stay away.

That's 100% correct. I just wish he would have had the guys actually scrimmage. Everyone was suited up. We don't know any of theses dudes. It was an opportunity missed. BTW. The girls actually scrimmaged and it was pretty decent.

I’m not talking about the extracircular stuff. If our program wasn’t in the crapper, people would still come out and have their ears bleed to watch good solid basketball.

Setting aside the "extras" for a second, do we make anything of the fact KP didn't start for either squad?

I didn't go, but my guess with the emcee is all about sound settings and that should be able to be fixed. Even back with Greg Williams was doing the hype he was hard to understand and that was a guy who talked on the mic professionally for decades. I have no doubt that that can and should be smoothed over. I'm also no expert on sound, but it's also possible that on some level it's different with a full arena compared to an empty one. How big an impact that has I have no clue. Still pretty certain most of the problem last night can be solved.

If he's not starting this year I think that will say more about IB than Kenny.

I think it would be more entertaining to fans if they swapped the scrimmage with the exhibition game.
