As much hype as Ballard is getting and had, he should absolutely in no way be beat out by a walk-on. It is not overplayed. It is a huge red flag in my opinion.

who's done any hyping of him? Is talking about facts, like his height, vertical leap, or former school really hype? Show me a post where anyone has said anything that is considered hype?

Yeah all I have seen is people just hoping for a rim protector who is basically a project. I don't think anyone is expecting much other than hope he can come in for a few minutes for Pohto or play situational minutes. He may not even be (probably wont be) our 2nd option at center honestly.

This is pretty much it. I view him kind of like Ehimen, but I hear he has better hands. Play D. Make shots in the paint difficult and dunk offensive rebounds and maybe we can get penetration and toss him a few alley-oops along the way.

Well IB has mentioned that he came here for playing time so I don't think he is gonna want to be the third option.

Playing at all would be an increase to what he's used to. I hope he can do enough to earn some minutes as I like his size and athleticism a great deal over Rojas. I always felt Ehimen should have played more than he did because of what he gave us defensively and because he was surrounded by a lot of offensive talent. We'll have to see if our offensive talent is as good as we hope it is.

But I sure hope IB doesn't over play him just because he maybe promised him a certain amount of court time.
