I just got to the thread and was about to say that his weakness was the inability to demonstrate correct shooting form, but you beat me to it.

Funny stuff right thar @BOBB: and @The Mad Hatter:! LOL

Someone else said recruiting. Maybe, but this dude has traveled the country talking to all the AAU coaches and many highschool prospects. He has a unique lay of the land as far as that goes and it would seem to be a huge advantage. Of course having met a player and being able to convince their parents to join the dark side are different animals, but a media personality should at least have some charisma with the parents easy enough. I dunno.

They might as well hire Mike and Mike in the Morning.

He said he would talk to Doug Wojcik, Matt Doherty and his old high school coach who is now at a California juco, Saddleback, I believe.

Clemson second-year head coach Brad Brownell allegedly contacted by KSU. Very unlikely to gain traction, I think -- but, given the location of the school, worth mentioning.

Dang. Martin is going to leave SC in a couple years. I wonder if Coach Marshall is going to take the job then?

Tell you what i see happening. Marshall wins a ton more games at Wichita State. He will have a long established career here. Then Roy Williams or Coach K retire. Then i might get worried.

Other than that we need to figure out how to apologize to Mr. Devlin after we rename the court.

I like Doug's upside. Recruiting will not be an issue for him. You can't become as successful as he has been without knowing how to sell and close. I actually think he might be the best person to recruit to KSU. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that he has proven to be the most knowledgable bb analyst at a national level.. If we had an opening I would be pumped if WSU made that hire.

If Brad Stevens can come from the corporate office to a successful head coach, it's not over-the-top to think Doug could do well as a coach. I think he'd do well.
It might work, provided he hired a shooting coach.

I am heavily assuming you are joking...but if you're not, worry no more. Marshall will never be on the radar for UNC or Duke.

Sounds like Weber is their man.

That's surprising, what a terrible hire. Look at what he has accomplished in the last 7 years at Illinois.

K-State scout site is in Stage Five meltdown. One gets the sense that they are not fond of AD Currie.

Their problem is that most of them believe they are entitled to Huggins/Martin quality coaches.

We all know how good of a coach Bruce Weber is, and we all know what KSU's place in the world is.

                              There should be no melt-down.

Seems like a pretty good hire on the surface. Both Martin and Weber are defensive minded coaches who expect their teams to put it all on the line in that end of the court. As far as I know he's alway run a clean program. This hire won't vault them to a Big 12 championship but the day someone else wins that conference is the day Bill Self retires. They shouldn't take a step back either.

Now, Bruce, end the madness and scheule WSU.
