OT a little, but this senior class won 98 games after pnly winning 17 as freshmen.

DWill has chance to be single winningest player in Shocker history. For a couple years anyways. This freshman class could push that.

Beautiful put back by Stutz! 2 points, 1 rebound, 2 fouls (?) in his first minute.

Another basket by Stutz! I think they probably should have played this game at Tulane (like they did for the 3 point and dunk contest). 11,000 people in the Superdome looks and sounds very empty.

Stutz by my count had 4 points on 2-3 shooting and 2 boards in his first 4 minute spell. He also had 2 tip outs that created offensive rebounds. A little frustrating the starting group is getting significantly more minutes. The score went in the right direction when the second group was in--they made up 6 of the 10 point deficit which they inherited.

Some nice love from the announcers for him as well.

Stutz has 4 points. I noticed on the one 10-ft shot he took, he shot it as soon as he got it. It was a miss but at least he wasn't holding on to it. I wish he would have done that more during the regular season.

Why does Stutz not have 5 fouls already? Who are these refs? You mean he gets to play? I wonder after playing for Wimp if he will come home and give Coach Marshall a big hug? Wimp brought L. Spreewell and Alabama here many moons ago under our Cohen regime and got beat. This is my old memory that could use a shot of WD40, so I could be incorrect? Later, on the Locker-room show, he called and congratulated us. The voice sure sounded like him too. However, it never seemed like he ever wanted a rematch here at 21st and Hillside. In that game and the Oklahoma State game that same Season, Robert George put on quite a show both times against players that were highly touted for both teams and showed them how the cow ate the cabbage. GO STUTZ!!!!!!!

Stutz sitting after a 2-minute stint. He didn't get a touch on the offensive end in that stretch. But he played very good post defense--the commentators said the dude he was guarding might have set a season high in misses. He also tipped the ball away and created a turnover.

Overall for his first half minutes his defensive rebounding wasn't so good. He tipped 2 balls out of bounds and his man got two more. On the offensive end he was pushed way off the block, but he found a way to be involved in the offense, especially with being active on the boards.

East up 5 or 6 at half. Love Wimp Sanderson's intensity (former Alabama coach, age 75, coaching the east). "I want to give everyone a chance to play, but if they don't play the way I want them too they can pick splinters with me."

                      Go Stutz! Go east!

Was that actually a diminutive smile from Wimp S. at the half in the interview? Yikes. Heads might roll in the locker-room at the half. He wants things done HIS way or primetime may just become pinetime!!! Yikes!!!

Stutz 0-1 and 1-2 from the line in 3:00 minutes. Very nice turn around move from 7 feet rattled in and out. Got one offensive board. 5 points, 3 rebounds.

Wimp puts in a fresh 5 and says something like "You five need to finish off this game with a win or I'll kick your butts." Gotta like that banter.

Stutz's final four minutes were the most solid. Made an easy lay-up on a beautiful feed. Had a very nice assist of his own and secured a defensive rebound.

Final line (give or take) is 7 points, 4 board (2 offensive), 1 assist in about 13 minutes. Too bad he didn't get to play a little more--it was pretty clear from miking W. Sanderson that he was frustrated with his team's defensive rebounding so that is probably why he sat. But not a bad showing at all against some very good competition. It was also clear that he was being a great teammate.

Glad I got to see Garrett play one more time this year. Hope to see him in the NBA some day. He will be sorely missed next year.

Congratulations on the honor of being an all star and thank you Garrett Stutz!
