Shocker staff have been in social media contact with Perris Blackwell who is transferring from San Francisco. He is a 6-9 C/F and has one more year of eligibility. He averaged 12.7 ppg this year.

Seems like a good player from what I've seen / heard.

I still cringe at the idea of social media as an official recruiting tool though.

A former Shocker recruit, pg Julyses Nobles is transferring from Arkansas after his junior season. He averaged about 9 ppg last season. Baylor and Florida State were also his suitors in high school.

Yeah, that's awful for the Valley, and even worse for Drake, but far from unexpected. That's 3 total from Drake, and they may not be done. Other defections and health issues have been running rampant for a few weeks. It's not looking good at all in Des Moines. Rice was one of their few players that made you adjust athletically. They aren't going to replace that.

This really hurts Drake. I thought with the return of their two bigs as well as having Rice and Simons that they could potentially make some noise this coming season.

Drake fans may get their wish soon if this keeps up. Phelps must be on a short leash at this point.

That would really suck for SIU. The kid showed a lot of promise and could be a huge asset to Hinson as he rebuilds that program.

If, as the article mentions, he wasn't happy with the environment around the team last year, I doubt he would reunite with lowery at ksu.
