Right now I'd be really shocked to see Durley this season. Too much of the season has passed and it would take too long to get him acclimated and into the flow of the game. Then again I don't think you'll really see the coaching staff come out with a cutoff date and officially announce a redshirt.

I agree with a redshirt for Durley right now. However, if our post players continue to get in foul trouble, we may need another big body that can help out. I personally dont think RBradley is going to be able to put in very many productive minutes in Valley play, but I could be wrong.

We have a great chance to do damage in the NCAA tourney this year.In my opinion if JT is ready to contribute in the next 3 weeks or so he should be on the floor. As we all know we are extremely thin down low and as a previous poster already pointed out we will be hard loaded next year.I like basketball, cuz if i wasnt for Basketball,i wouldnt be playin Basketball today

Turg will talk with Durley this week about redshirting and make a decision. MT said the best option right now would be to redshirt him.

Im trying to look at it as a continuation of success.
We lose our post next year. KDub and Rymart are gone. We have Philly back and im sure he will be even more stellar than he has been this year.
With both Butler and Durley sitting out this year, not only do they get the chance to bulk up get fit and all that but they get to work with the team. Its not game experience BUT they will know the offense and know primarily what is expected of them. They will both probably recieve massive amounts of PT as well as one of them will probably start.
as far as redshirts next season I dont really see any at this point. Maybe Guy but from what I read from all of you he sounds like a project so it would be perfect or him. Perhaps even he might not recieve that athletic scholarship and we might be able to get that to the Juco kid we have been looking at.
The future looks bright for us kiddos. We need the help down on the blocks right now. No question about it. But we wont have this problem next year.
ps I hate the fact that I had to type bout next year when there is still another 2 months in the season

From the way Turg sounded in the paper today, I really doubt we play Durley this year. I wouldnt think having a guy play half a season would be a good use of a full year of eligibility."You can observe a lot just by watching."

Phil and JT will start with Bowles being a backup. Butler and Brown can both play the 4 and the 3 and expect them to be used that way. I suspect Guy will redshirt.
Cooz needs an athletic backup preferably with some height and that's where Butler and Brown fit in nicely. Both can work in the post but have the skill set to play on the outside and shoot or penetrate. Can you say matchup problem :DInfinity Art Glass - Fantastic local artist and Shocker fan

From todays Eagle:
Durley decision -- Loyal members of the student section probably picked up on this long ago, as they watched freshman J.T. Durley work out 90 minutes before home games with Arbry Butler.
Butler is a redshirt. Durley moves in that direction with every game he doesn't play. Thursday, he ran sprints before the Bradley game, a big clue coaches view conditioning, not playing, as Durley's No. 1 goal.
Friday, Turgeon said Durley is making progress in practice and looking like the offensive threat coaches envisioned. However, he's not in shape to play. Turgeon said the decision to redshirt or not is about a week away and he will discuss it with Durley.
"Now he's starting to look like J.T. again," Turgeon said. "He's showing some quickness. We're going to probably redshirt him, but we're not sure yet."

I want to change my vote to let him play, I have tickets to the MVC tournament for the first time and I don't think I can get there for the play-in game. With the way our inside game is I think we will need him just to take some fouls for Wilson.
