I went with the NCAA Transfer Portal. The Genie is out of the lamp, Pandora's Box has been opened, Ragnarök is upon us, etc.

Portal is an excuse (probably the one DB is using to Muma). WSU is a extreme outlier. What happening here is not happening throughout CBB.

Went with muma. How come he extended butthead? Didn't he have something to do with the loss of big donors?

Muma was interim when he extended Boatright and apparently the contract was already written. And I believe it was Golden that cost us most of the donors.

Muma hasn't done anything to make it better that I can tell.. but he's not the first person I'd pin this on

Yeah, that is basically my understanding as well. Academically, Muma will be fine. Athletically I just don't think he is all that involved (or aware) outside of just making a few appearances at games. Seems that way to me anyway.

Golden was absolutely horrible on just about all fronts. Now, I feel like DB is the first domino that must fall. Then we can go from there.

I will judge Muma (regarding athletics) based on who he replaces DB with if/when that should happen.

Everyone. But most on the AD. No votes for IB doesn't mean he has no blame. All of these parties could have been more proactive. It may have been an impossible chore, but the million dollar coach should have been pounding on the AD and president's desks demanding we get something in place. Who knows. Maybe he did. This is just a travesty. There are very few programs in the country that have taken it in the balls like we have.

To be honest, if Muma had a good AD... He shouldn't have to be involved in the athletics... That the ADs job. As long as he doesn't block progress.

That's true. He just needs to know when to get involved. Hopefully he will get to that point soon.....

Honestly, it is kind of hard to hate on IB. He seems like a genuinely good dude, who fell into an opportunity he could not turn down (nor could anyone). Now he's a terrible fit for that opportunity, but that is not necessarily his fault. That lies on the shoulders of...

Boaty McBoatface. He can go kick rocks, and I'm trying to filter here a bit for the sake of Kung Wu.

NIL and transfer portal sucks, but we'd at least be treading water if various parties associated with WSU both on the academic and the athletics side hadn't told our deep pocket boosters to effectively eff off. We may not have blue blood money, but recall we at one time paid 3G top 10/15 money that was funded almost entirely by boosters. Those boosters that we ran off. Hoepfully they are just standing away from the fire at current and waiting for it to fully consume itself to ashes before they whip out the influence and wallets again to help rebuild with new blood. Or maybe they never do.

I voted other. Jay Golden was out to get Gregg Marshall from day 1 and made no bones about his dislike of Gregg and his mega-salary.

Taylor picking this up is a big deal. Good luck to those of you who speak with him. SN is the hard-core backbone of the fanbase. I know you all will do a good job of articulating the Shocker fan frustration level at this point. This needs to build momentum quickly. It sure feels like it is.

“Boaty McBoatface”…perhaps all time best nickname. Love it! Nicely done. Sounds like something from McDonalds. Lol

I remember seeing President Bardo in St. Louis for the Tournament. He was willing to engage with athletic fans, and seemed to enjoy it. He truly had a vision for the entire university which included athletics, and how it helped him fulfill that vision. I disagree that it’s best when the President doesn’t have a vision for the athletic program, and leadership over the AD. Maybe not the everyday running of the program, but the overall mission/goals of the program for sure

Didn't say it would be BEST.. but if he has a good or great AD he doesn't HAVE to be so involved. Bardo was a visionary. Those are rare. He enhanced the whole university including athletics DESPITE us not having a good AD.

So yea Absolutely if you can have a president and AD that both are visionaries that great.. but for the athletics you at minimum need the AD to do that... because that literally their job lol
