Creighton center Gregory Echenique (#00) intentionally fouls University of North Carolina forward Tyler Zeller (#44) during 2012 NCAA Tournament, third round...

First, how did the officials miss it...second, if they would have gone to the monitor would it have been a flagrant 1 or 2?

That almost looked like a #12 flagrant foul which combines both 1 and 2? :) Wow, they rarely miss such a play. Reminds me a few years ago here at 21st and Hillside when the Creighton player drop-kicked the basketball up into the stands and received no T. Sort of mind boggling.
Shocker basketball will forever be my favorite team in all of sports.

There has been a couple of punk moves by Creighton. The Grant Gibbs slap on Henson's wrist after the whistle was dirty too. He was pretty proud of himself with that wink after Henson got T'd up.

Dirty? Some on this board have such a hardon for sCUm, they see things that just aren't there. I would hope our players would try and slap, punch or do whatever they could to dislodge the ball until the whistle blows.

You missed the "after the whistle part".

Creighton is apart of the Taliban.
              It cost's $31,000 a year to be a Creighton Bluejay.....ya, for daddy's credit card.

Yea, I'm sure Joe Ragland never continued a motion "after the whistle part."

I will say it again. I have watched fourty plus years of basketball and have played the game in an organized fashion.

I have never seen someone get away with as much as Echinique.

Gibbs, on the other hand, is one of those guys you hate when he is on the other team, but you love when he plays for you.

I agree, 00 should have been tossed...that was blatant.

That didn't look dirty to me either. Gibbs was trying to dislodge the ball and was coming down on the ball hard (hand and wrist sometimes become a part of the ball - a foul could have been whistled maybe and maybe it was a split second late). The announcer said that Henson had an injured wrist and he lost his composure. It looked like he was trying to bully and intimidate Gibbs. I will say that later the heels did bully the Jays.

I'm sorry, but there is a fine line between being a punk, and being scrappy.

I 100% agree, 00 shot against Zeller was a punk move...Gibbs not even close.

I hope 00 enjoyed his cry on the bench this afternoon in the game's final minute.
