Memphis facing multiple violations, including four Level 1 violations
Memphis fans were arguing that Larry Brown should have been hired from the beginning of Penny rein. We have to remember that LB is a hall of fame coach.

So this ended up with Memphis getting a 5000 dollar fine, 3 years probation (not a ban. Just probation) and vacates 3 games.
This is less than a slap on the wrist. I think the message they are sending is to cheat away.... Benefits are going to massively outweigh the punishments.
Crazy prediction...go ahead and cheat away...as long as your NIL deals are financially strong we will not punish school...then the NCAA swoops in and takes a percentage of players NIL money. Another revenue source for NCAA???

This whole thing with the less-than-substantial fine, and trying to get the players you want money be damned, for some reason made me think of this scene from Smokey and the Bandit. It's a clip, so you will have to click the link to see it.
It's pretty incredible that Memphis' lawyers successfully argued that Penny Hardaway did not know James Wiseman was ineligible for their first game because the school's administrators failed to relay that information. The results of this case, although not tied to the FBI investigation, are likely a positive sign for Kansas, Louisville, Arizona, and LSU.
What exactly is the "mission statement" of the NCAA anyways? Has to be hilarious at this point in time. What exactly DO they stand for exactly, and remind me again what their purpose of existence is?
KU's penalty will be so light they will probably say
and keep on cheating.
Based on this, I'm expecting KU to be retroactively awarded a second NCAA championship because it's obvious the shadow of this investigation kept them from winning another and KU is the real victim here. /s
