A more appropriate title for this thread might be "Who Could You Hire". There's going to be a lot of "up and coming" coaches who would look at the WSU job right now and think they could do a lot better at another school. The word of how Marshall's exit was handled will get out and NOBODY is going to want to work for an AD that throws the basketball coach under the bus to save his job.
If IB were terminated tomorrow, which is financially impossible, there would be a long string of applicants. BoatAnchor would choose one that would always "know his place" in the department. IB is the perfect example of that. That's not what successful programs do. Bill Self is on the selection committee when KU hires an AD. Every school that has a successful coach has that coach dominating the athletic director when it come to their program.
