If you want something that could actually happen, get rid of Gudino and Kennedy. Keep Waterman for his recruiting. I may be wrong on who to keep for recruiting. Bring in Heiar and Hall as assistants. Give Heiar a sweetheart deal that pays significantly better than his JuCo gig and a guarantee that he's the HC as soon as IB's buyout can be afforded.

I'd take Hall working with Pohto any day, any time, any year.

I know that scenario is below most SN'ers hopes and expectations, but that's possibly the best available scenario that wouldn't tank the program for years.

I’m okay with Lou staying on staff. He seems to have brought good scouting reports for Gregg. I’m not sure what the hell has happened in these last couple seasons, but I’m not blaming him just yet. FWIW, he too was in Hutch tonight. I saw him talking with Heiar for a good amount of time.
Yeah, let's pump the brakes on hiring a guy with a mean SOB and BEAST attitude who might be able to instill some of that into some post players like Morris and Udeze. Hall's contributions would be in practice and in teaching some attitude. Game-time coaching might not be apparent. We've obviously not had anyone on staff for quite a while who could develop post players.

Durley was still roaming the perimeter as a Sr, which was not in Marshall's game plans. Morris improved substantially over the years, but that improvement came at the most incredible possible cost to the WSU basketball program.

Gregg Marshall becomes AD about a year from now. May be impossible but personally would love to see him back on board.

Just that those would be two other players people would love to see come be HC and be extremely successful.

          I mean, who wouldn’t?

That doesn’t mean they want them and/or believe they would be successful if they did.
Yeah, it was pretty clear in the article that Cliff coaches as a hobby, more or less.

I am not Aargh. There were 800 people in Fairmount Towers when I lived there. The fact that two out of 800 had the same experience means we are the same person? lt's easy to ignore your posts because they are primarily argumentative and rarely informative.

I come to this forum for information and reasoned opinions about Shocker basketball. The vast majority of your posts address neither of those interests.

You have made an outstanding contribution to SN becoming a social media hate-filled chat room instead of a source of information about Shocker basketball.

Did you just brag about easily ignoring my posts, while responding to one with 3 paragraphs worth of defensiveness?

There have to be multiple coaches out there who are better fits than IB. That guy is NOT the guy.

If a list came out of who had interest in the job, I wonder what’s the public reaction would be??

There were quite a few that stated they were interested in the job prior to IB getting it. They were apparently all ignored.

Heiar would never, I don't believe, work under Brown.

Gudino was Jans top assistant before coming here.

Love Carl Hall! However, he's far from ready at this time.

Reading this thread makes me realize what my parents must have felt like when I told them I wanted to play in the NBA.

Hell I’d take the St. Peter’s coach.

                            Definitely; Over our situation now.

He’s almost a lock to take the job at his alma mater SHU though.

Heiar just took a team that won 6 games last year that was a 10 seed at the NJCAA tourney to the tournament title.

There's pretty much nothing that can be done until Boatright's contract is up and IB's buyout is doable. By then, if Heiar is still available, he looks like a legitimate candidate. He was on the staff with Marshall, Forbes, and Jans.

It's hard to argue with the Marshall coaching tree, with the exception of the one WSU has now. Heiar is starting to look like the last one that might be available. He might even have a couple years at a low major by the time WSU can do anything about replacing IB. During that time our best hope is to try to remain good enough that the rivalry with Tulsa has meaning.
