Last thing I am is an apologist for this team but put in context for f…ks sake.
    Factually false.

Keep in mind, some turned off the TV at 9-33 with nearly 7 minutes left in the first. In the Houston 2020 game, the score at the same time was 'only' 12-24. They may seem like similar scores, but Memphis had a lead equal to Houston's total score. Frankly, much of the rest of the game today was played as if it were garbage time basketball.

      • I believe his contract requires a postgame interview with the press, but not with MK, but I could be wrong.

        • No matter what the score of Marshall’s very few lopsided losses, those teams never played as inept as this one has.

I thought about this. Gregg only went 1-3 against $0.01 but it wasn’t nearly as bad as I remembered. His least experienced team ever lost in Memphis by 11 (conference opener, BTW) and lost in Wichita by 3. As Woodrow mentioned, his last season was a split by almost identical margins.

IB is 0-3 with beatdowns of 20, 18, and 24. In each of those games, I said some iteration of “that’s two hours of my life that I won’t get back.” We aren’t close up beating those asshats, and it likely isn’t changing anytime soon with IB in charge.

the losing coach of the national championship and super bowl gives a tv interview right afterwards.

as a man and the leader of the program, you have to face the music.

There were a couple times where Gregg didn’t, and he caught flack for it. I remember he later apologized to Mike on air when he missed the postgame after losing at Missouri State in 2009 (when team fell to 0-6). He wanted to have a very pointed conversation with the team and took too long to get out. It seems like it happened another time (Houston 2020 maybe)…but not a regular occurrence at all.

If IB wanted to have that pointed conversation now, I’d say he’s about a month too late because this season is already down the crapper. If he just wanted to avoid Mike, that’s just chicken ****. Bad look either way.

                • Something seems a tad off (other than the obvious). Typically, win or lose, someone on the team posts something on social media after the game…home or away. It’s unusually quiet.

That being said, I may have missed something and its nothing. I am probably reading too much into it. Or, maybe IB finally blew his top about something.

Edit: nm, just like that a IG post from Tyson.

                  • Well Patty, are you happy with the bullsheet that has happened to this program? I would guess you are as long as all of the players do not have hurt feelings.
                    What a stupid woke biitch.

                    That is all.
Above all, make the right call.

                    • 3G could coach these guys to 20 wins, IB can’t. If IB can’t haul in 4 star guys, we will be bottom of the barrel until he’s gone.

There’s a million and a half reasons to do it. IB is so inexperienced and in over his head with this, that he doesn’t even know basic postgame protocol. This is what comes with a high level, high paying D1 job. If you can’t handle it, you definitely have the option to move on.

                        ... No really, deuces.

                        • This season has gone from embarrassing to deflating to disheartening. It is now all of the above and I don't even know what to say anymore. As a fan and alumnus, I expect more. Shox would be bottom three in the valley, and that is not hyperbole. IB might be a good person, but he is not the man to lead this team. The administration is in shambles and the athletic director is equally as incompetent.

Of the regular players, I would like to see Porter, RCIV, Pohto, and Jenkins return as well as the redshirts. But, alas, I would not hold it against them or blame them for leaving. I am not holding my breath. It is going to be a long long long dark 3-4 years minimum.

I suspect it has a lot to do with our players’ shooting problems and why we rarely have good shooting teams. It isn’t the only reason but Im sure it’s a factor.
LOL, which one of our players looks "bulked up?" Every one of our players that takes in "strong" to the hoop gets it ripped, slapped out of our hands, put back in our face, or just plain has it taken from them. This team is WEAK! I keep reading about this fantastic strength coach, I don't see the results.

                            • Just got back from a cruise this morning. No internet access, just now reading about game. Based on what I've read, I guess I should just delete the DVR and move on.

For me, Jenkins is a BIG pass. His antics on national TV further embarrassed us
needlessly. If TE and others on the bench were laughing that adds fuel to the fire.
Acceptance of that kind of behavior is another red flag for the program.
