I did not realize that Hunter married Gavyn Yetter who was a very good mult-event athlete herself for the Shocker women. Hunter could run fast and jump high but he may have exceeded his track & field exploits by reeling in Gavyn. Gavyn is 8th on the Shocker Top 10 list in the indoor pentathlon and 4th in the outdoor heptathlon.

Hunter is the only Shocker to ever break 6,000 points in the indoor heptathlon and 8,000 points in the outdoor decathlon. His heptathlon record of 6,090 points is 385 points better than 2nd place Ben Johnson's 5,705 and his deccathlon record of 8,046 points is 199 points better than 2nd place Austin Bahner.

Last year's AAC Decathlon champion scored 7,013 points.

The only thing the put a bit of crimp in Hunter's career were some injuries. Might even have kept him from capturing a national title.

You never know. The gene pool and the force appears to be strong with Hunter and Gavyn. Daughter Grace is only 6 months old so most likely I will either be drooling my pablum or watching from a galaxy far, far away.
