He had no choice on the hire... He had plenty of choice with the structure of the contract. He seemed to be more concerned about making sure he didn't have to do any work for the next 3 years

My only comments have been to give him time instead of calling for his head because we can't fire him even if it's the right thing to do. That time is quickly running out (frankly I'm of the opinion now that its not going to turn around, but for the sake of the program I'm going to try to not make it toxic by screaming it from the rooftops until we can reasonably afford to buy him out AND hire a better coach)
      The money is there.

Like with any investment though, they need to be presented a competent plan before opening their checkbooks.

      • Where’s the Staples easy button to fix this mess?

        • I’m sitting the basketball forum out for a while. It’s kind of like having a migraine headache and then treating it with loud music. I’m barely handling the migraine headache.

            1. I applaud the kids AND coaches for fighting and coming back. Down 15 on the road, lead by 13 in the 2nd half, showed a ton of heart and effort.
            2. Jalen Cross is a ****ing dick, and anyone with a sac would have made sure he suffered the entire 2nd half after his mouthy first half and elbow leaving the court. My comment to him starting the 2nd half would have gone something like this: "Hey Cross, before I make plans to visit you in prison, just know the first time you and I get close in the 2nd half, your cage is getting rattled, and if I can bring you to the floor, it's happening buddy, so be careful if you leave the ground, cuz Imma commin' Dawg'" Step on his foot, call his mother a dirty whore, nothing out of bounds imho.
            3. We're the lowest IQ team in the history of the game. Breaking down the last 4 minutes, and the last effort at a shot is just not worth it.
            4. I can't believe Dex's quick 3, RC4 stepping out of bounds (JUST HOLD THE ****ING BALL) ....the entire last 4 minutes. Stupid is as stupid does.

The officials should NEVER work a D1 game again. There were at least 4 BRUTAL nearly game changing calls, including the TE challenge on the 3 that decided the game. The non call on Porter was as bad a call as I've seen. Gregg would have been kicked out, and rightfully so, with that debacle. Unreal bad officiating, almost as bad as our decision making at the end.

That's a team full of dicks, and other than Memphis, they cannot have enough awful things happen to them.

            Side Note:

I like Mark Adams personally, he's a good guy, but he was a complete tool today.

It's extra frustrating when you lose to sack of dicks. Today, it is super extra frustrating. Even with how poorly we've played and shot and lost players etc etc, we're 1-5 and we should be 4-2. Still most of the problems are personnel problems, but you don't have to lose to shithole programs and teams like Tulane, and sure as **** don't have to lose twice to a group of ****tards that won't win **** in their lifetimes, except their first 2 wins over us ever.

That's all. On to baseball and softball.
Yup. Just bought my tickets for the Frisco Baseball Classic instead of coming to Wichita for the last home men's basketball game of the season.

Would MUCH rather watch the Shox baseball team right now.

And softball would be a no-brainer as well.
"He called me around noon and was thrilled," Brandt said. "He said he was going to be a Shocker forever." -- RIP Guy, you WILL indeed be a Shocker forever!

Yep, that’s why it’s imperative something, anything changes to show wins and losses matter. If we keep DB, we might as well hibernate for a good decade because it’s going to be ugly.

From my understanding... The money isn't there, and won't be there until non basketball changes are made.

Though step one of any plan is fire DB. Until that happens no money, changes or plans will happen

                • Home cookin down the stretch for Tulane.

Main difference in the game is Cook can recognize the double team and find his teammates. TE will always only call his own number. That stubbornness has been the difference in several games this year. That and IB’s loyalty to a fault. Some guys get all the opportunities no matter what they do and others can seemingly do nothing right. Makes no sense to me. He is not head coach material. It’s no wonder there is reportedly division within the team. He’s created it.

Remember the days when the Shox were road warriors and exhibited mental toughness?

                  • Weird game: First 8 minutes: 9-24; next 21 minutes 46-18; Final 11 minutes: 11-25.

TE actually did way better this game... Up until the last 4 minutes...

                        • 6pt or less margin (within two possessions) or OT…

                          IB interim: 9-1
                          IB permanent: 6-7

That right there is being shortsighted. Last year‘s success was aided by several fortunate bounces that are not going our way at this point. Problem is now, we are stuck with multiple years of very mediocre basketball and inevitable waning fan support or falling deeper into debt hole to fix a problem that should not have become a problem.

                          ****, I’m pissed!

What are the "non-bball" changes that need to be made?

He made some shots but he still played selfish and made some dumb mistakes. Shox are so easy to defend in clutch situations because teams know 100% where it’s going and what he’ll do with it.
