    How nice of him.

I would hope he's supportive, considering he's the athletic director.

Kind of interesting Lutz went into a little more detail on the exchange between Elfin and HCGM on his show this morning. He said that Elgin was yelling loudly (is there any other way to yell?) at our coach during the mix.
I know many folks don't like the radio show but I would recommend the podcast starting about fifteen minutes in.

I may have to check that out. Elgin is the biggest tool I have ever seen, the MVC would be much better off without him. However, I'm still not convinced that Sexton is even worthy to be an AD. The way he defended that Creighton debacle a couple years ago proves to me that he doesn't have a clue.

I have yet to hear what good it would do for Sexton to come out and publicly "support" Marshall against the Valley. And I have yet to read what it is he "should" have done with the Creighton deal a couple years ago. Lets remember, Sexton runs the "Athletic Department," he is not only there to benefit Mens Bball. So, he throws a big hissy fit against Elgin and then the league office screws WSU in every other sport, but hey, Sexton stood up for Marshall, so who cares. Did you ever think that maybe Marshall was in the wrong on Saturday?? Maybe he deserved to have the commissioner yell at him. The commissioner didn't keep Stutz on the bench for most of the final 8 minues of the game. College bball officiating sucks, it sucks every game, in every league. WSU did not get jobbed by some conspiracy Saturday, they played crappy down the stretch, simple as that. Sexton is an amazing fundraiser, that is what he does best. He has secured the money to keep Marshall here this long. The bball budget is over-flowing, Marshall doesn't spend all of the money he gets in his yearly budget. That is on Sexton. So let me ask you this: Do you want an AD that goes out and gets big dollars that can be used to improve programs, or do you want a guy who throws big public fits towards the Conference, but all of the programs are broke (ie. Southern Illinois) and you can't fire crappy coaches and you can't keep good ones???

Pulling HCGM to the side and making sure he doesn't embarrass the university by spouting off consipiracy theories would be the only relevant way to answer this thread's question with a resounding "YES."

After some reflection I must agree here. There was some bad officiating. There is no grand conspiracy. To think so overvalues the intelligence of the alleged conspirators.

I have to agree with the viewpoint that throwing a public tantrum is not the best way to win people over to your side. There are no doubt much better avenues and channels to air your grievances without polarizing those in a postion to do anything about it. If those avenues and channels or not given he proper consideration then maybe you have no choice but to go public.

Now if 3G did deliberately break the accepted protocal and took the podium ahead of Illinois State that is wrong and he should apologize to Illinois State and to the MVC for that mistake. I can't really blame 3G for being upset with the officiating. However, there is no conspiracy and no reason to imply that there is one. No doubt we have some bad officating that needs to corrected one way or the other.

Not sure anyone came out smelling like a rose on Saturday. The Shockers did not play very well. Illinois State decided to goon the game up. The officials had a bad day. Despite all that the Redbirds had to survive a very makeable shot by Garrett at the buzzer to win in a game that was a perfect storm in their favor.

Actually, the one thing that has not been discussed much and perhaps deserves as much attention as the poor officiating is ILS Coach Jankovic's decision to direct his players to physically beat up Garrett (and I suppose injuring him in the process would have been acceptable). I suppose it worked due to the poor officiating but in my mind these actions by Jank and his players are much more reprehensible than anything 3G may have said or did. So I guess, if I think an apology is due from 3G I also would expect an apology from Jankovic, his goons and the officials.

I don't believe 3G did anything wrong. This was 5 minutes after the game was over. I bet that 3G ask Jank to go first or we would have heard about this from Jank. Let's not forget that 3G is human too and probably said the same things that we all wanted to say. All that you ask if for a fair officiated game. When they aren't, you get a lot of fodder for the media. I think this been over blown. How individuals say things and how other interpret them is up for discussion. Coaches want fairness, simply because they can be fired (loose thier job over losses)

I would like to see a copy of Eric Sexton's birth certificate.

Great post, 72'. Cold almost came out that game looking like a mad genius.

Just a quick question , Did the TV camera's catch the HIgh 5 Jank gave #13 after his 2nd TF ? when he went to the bench ,, just thinkin ,,,, if my player just did somethin to take himself out of the game ,,the last thing I'm doin is celebratin it ,,but that's just me

yes we did not play well,, but I WILL ARGUE that your shooting % will tend to drop when you are being mugged and not getting the calls at all.
did it decide the game probably not ,, but the POOR officiating DEFINITLY had a bearing on the outcome,, the best officiating you can ask for is a game that no one is TOO upset with , and NO one is TOO happy about. Officiating should be invisible to the action on the court, field , or ballpark ( just my opinion)

I saw the high 5 after the first T was administered following the monitor review. Jank plus a few players.
