this loss stings...but they need to just go back to practice and wait for an invite to either the Big Dance or the NIT...the season resume is complete and now our fate is in the hands of the selection committee...lets just wait a week and see how the cards unfold!!

I hope that Marshall is such a competitor that his emotions were taking over after the game and cooler heads will prevail. Strange things and neutral court were stinging comments.

Its hard to feel very positive about someone who feels like he does wanting to continue to go through it year after year. Its my hope that we win some games in the dance by playing like I know we can and put a better taste in his mouth. I think if someone offered him a exit from this conference and Arch Madness today he'd be hard pressed not to take it.

So to conform to the original thread topic the good things from this loss is not having to deal with STL another day.
I think that Marshall is just going to get the program better than it is now so that we just start beating teams with superior talent that is head and shoulders above anyone else and start to dominate the conference even more.

Think about the increased traffic and ad revenue generated by all the posters from ValleyTalk lurking here for material to run back to post on Valley Talk. Someone has to benefit from that increased traffic, right?

This isn't a loss where the team just got beat by the better team. Those types of wins are easy to get over. All these guys know they let this game slip away. A 13 point advantage was chipped away to the very last seconds of the game. It was torturous to watch, I can't imagine the mindset of the boys who were experiencing this first hand. This will not be an easy loss to forget. This will simmer for awhile and they carry no momentum into the post-season.

I know they take solace in the fact they know they are dancin'. I look forward to seeing their smiles on selection Sunday. Until then, this stinks.
Silly yet again. Momentum lasts until the next tipoff. You may be bothered, but the players -- especially this group -- will know how to channel whatever frustration they feel, and this won't hurt them a bit. If anything, it will sharpen their focus. If you were around in 1988, you probably thought the same thing after the baseball Shockers bowed out of the College World Series one round too soon.

The 2006 regular season champions Shockers lost in the same round of the MVC tourney and they ended up going to the Sweet 16. I have a feeling this year's team could go even further.

I'm with Doc on this one, after 16 consecutive MVC tourneys, I'll boycott until the venue changes to KC.

Someone said something to me about supporting the team and how they deserve our support. I totally agree.

But the schools own the MVC. And until I see my President and my AD stand up for ME and do something about the inequities of sending 2000+ fans to drop millions into the 314, and can adequately explain how that's good for us (0fer) when all that money the "MVC" makes gets divided amongst the schools, then I am out. I'm done giving money to Evansville.

WSU and CU pay all the bills. The difference being someone has a hard on for Creighton.

The definition of futility is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Well this is the first time in all the years I've been attending this tournament that I expected WSU to win. I didn't expect to win in 2006. I expected to win this weekend, and I demanded we play on Sunday. Neither is going to happen. I be done.

Remember last year? After we lost in the Valley Tourney, we went on to win a post season tournament. Lets do it again, only this time have the tournament be a bit bigger! Go Shox!

Wow, after watching the post game, I no longer feel good about HCGM staying at WSU. I'm a LOT more depressed about that than this lose.

Time to leave the valley. Nothing good came from this. I'm afraid of the ramifications of the annual mvc screw job.
